Hello Farmsisters, for all of you praying ladies, my family needs prayers right now.
My husband’s step-dad of 22 years, fell and hit his head and broke his hip the day after Christmas. He is 89 years old, and Bentley’s mom has dementia. We are all taking turns staying with his mom while she is alone at home. She is on oxygen 24/7 as well and she doesn’t think she needs it. She is constantly turning off the machine when our backs are turned and argues when you stress how important it is. The step-dad has now contracted pneumonia on top of everything else. I will be absent from the forum for a while, but please remember to keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much!!!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Wanda Sue - praying for your husband's step-dad. It can be so difficult when the carer suddenly needs the caring. I pray for you as you now take on the carer role for Bentley's mother. Dementia is a tricky thing sometimes. May you have the strength, patience & understanding to get through this.

An update on Ken, my husband’s stepfather, he will be moved to rehab tomorrow for about two weeks. He is doing well considering all he has been through. So your prayers are working, thank you! His pneumonia is clearing out, he had internal bleeding they were able to fix by carterizing the four veins that were leaking, and they didn’t have to do a full hip replacement yet.
Turns out his bones are so dense they decided to just put a rod and screw in the hip joint to see if that will work. It’s working good so far. That is also what saved his head injury. He had a pretty big cut on the back of his head where he hit the fireplace, but his skull is not even cracked!! Amazing for an 89 year old that has been on so much prednisone in the last few years, his bones should be brittle. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers!!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.
