Hi Corrine :-) I love your name too! When I was pregnant back in 1980, I had "Corrine" picked out as a name if I had a girl, "Michael" if I had a boy. Well, I had Michael, lol!
Your quilts are absolutely beautiful! I just got back into quilting recently. Yours are truely an inspiration! Welcome to the community :-D

Hugs..
Jeannie

Hi, there, Corinne - and a bug farmgirl welcome from around the globe! Oh, to have fresh figs...YUM! Your quilts are just beautiful. They remind me of some of the older ones that my mother has - colors on a cream background - that I just love. It's so nice to have you here, and I look forward to getting to know you better!

XOXO, Libbie

Welcome, Corinne!

It's great to have you here! Your quilts are wonderful!!! Thanks for posting the pictures!

Where in Canada will you be during your vacation? I was also married to a Canadian. He grew up on the West Island of Montreal (English speaking) and his parents live on a lake about 1-1/2 hours north of there now (beautiful place). His siblings live in Montreal, Ontario, and Massachusetts.

I'm not too far from the Canadian border with BC.

Sorry! Just kind of curious where you will be!

Again, welcome! Karin

Bon jour Corrine. Comma ca va hmmmm je suis desoles as my spelling en francais is not so good!!! LOL!! welcome to this grea and wonderful homey place to be. I am one of the Canuck gals on the forum. I am so very privaliged to live on the smallest province PEI. By the way...there are soooo many farms for sale here cheap. It is unfortunate that the older farmers are retiring and the younger ones aren't interested in taking over. Any way Bon Chance and Bienvenue!!!

Hey there,

Welcome to the group! I joined yesterday morning and everyone is so very nice :o) YOu will always have someone to talk to in this group!

This quilt has an enchanting, fairylike feeling to me! I admire all that can make quilts this size entirely by hand. I enjoy handpiecing and quilting small projects...I guess I'm a fan of fancywork and small details.

Peace,
Stephanie

Dear ladies,
Thanks so much for all the warm welcome and the kind words about my quilts.
So here we are, in southern France at my parents for one week, then we will go to Canada. Karin, we are going to the Gatineau/Hull area where Raymond my husband grew up to. It is on the other side of the Ottawa river, and Ottawa is about 45 minuts from whee we used to live. It is so nice and so peacefull, just a nice prt of the country that stil feels and look country. I used to have an organic garden and some roses in between the rows of cabbage and tomatoes, put there for the smell and colors.
I would like very much to see the quilts you are all making, it is such an inspiration to see the work of others ladies.
Cheers.

Here we are now in Quebec, enjoying our holidays sooo much. I did forget how green and plush it was, how the wildlife had rights to be part of the life of human beings, how the nature, tress, seeds are allowed to reach towards the sun. It feels so good and natural to see the sun reach out from the mountains early morning while the fog and mist on the lake lift slowly.
I hope every one of you will have a peacefull and happy day where ever you are.
Brought my quilt and enjoy doing it on the deck ...

Last week I was reading somewhere in the Forum about "not buying anything new for one year" and a book on the matter about how to cut back on spending and cunsumming. It was great and now I just cannot remember in which part it was. Can anybody help me here ? Many thanks in advance.

Tanks Sherone, went to see your website, you have very interresting items there, congratulations.
Hello shari, thanks for the great quote and the welcome.
How's the weather at your places right now ? In Canada it is hot and humid during the day and cold at night, it is such a nice contrast... On the lake where we have the cottage for our holidays, we found a bever house that is really huge. It is the second year only beavers have decided to live here and they work so hard it is unbelivable. I enjoy looking at the real life of animals here, they do not seem too disturbed by the humans, they keep doing their animal work, they just go on.
Lilac have just finished, now it is time for the iris and the lilies, you know the yellow and orange ones that smell funny... not sure if it is a sweet smell or more like something begining to rot, but they look nice and happy.
What sort of flowers around you ladies ?
Corinn

Hi Corrine,
I think the book that you were looking for is Don't Buy It by Judith Levine. Or is it Not buying it, my year without shopping. I made myself a note and now I can't figure it out cause I couldn't remember in which forum I read it!!! Ugh. Glad you are resting and enjoying your break. Glad you are here with us.
Carol Sue

Life is short, enjoy every moment.

Welcome, Corinne. Your quilts are just grand. You'll fit right in here. There's so much to learn from everyone. I'm getting back into the quilting thing again after I went to a quilt show a couple of weekends ago. I had put it on hold while I learned to knit, locker hook, and braid rugs. I so love the vintage fabrics they have out now - so will probably to with that and make a quilt for my granddaughter. And your life sounds like such an adventure and learn experience. Again, welcome.

Peace and love,
Annie

Thanks Carol Sue for the welcome and the name of the book. Hopefully, browing my way around I will find the place in the forum where they had so interresting posting on the subject.
Annie, the new fabric out there are just amazing. I m sure you are going to make a little girl happy, making one for your granddaughter. Kids all age like to have aspecial cozy quilt or blanket just to feel at home. I began cutting one for my stepdaugter and stepson as weel as one for my goddaughter, these teens go so well along they have decided they are cousins... all 3 will be on the same pattern but with specific colors for each of them. I just did a couple of blocks for each before I went on holidays, just to ge the look and really liked that. I just have to cut 39 blocks for each hehehe will keep be busy for a while.
