Hello! I'm a military brat city girl who got plunked on her crumpets in the country. My name is Annika and I'm just on the 26th of this month 47. I'm on disability for a number of ailments and it's wonderful to find such a lively forum of country gals.
I inherited enough money to buy a rather nice custom mobile home from friends and have been on an overly ambitious remodeling spree all summer :P but the new blond wood flooring is beautiful and gives the house a lot of light and space. I'm at the present trying to put up a huge lot of little wild plums and then I'm taking on the kitchen for a remodel
I love talking online but am trying to get over social phobia. I hope to provide good times and good chats with everybody. And make a few new friends.
=) Annika |

Hi Annika, wild plums are yummy to suck the juice out of. I found out yesterday our beef calves love to eat them too!

Welcome Annika!
I LOVE your name! I am in Moscow as well! OOO! Where did you find wild plums? I know where apples and blackberries are, but I am always trying to find more harvestable food in the area :)

Thank you for the warm welcome everybody.
Alee, nothing bugs me more but to see fruit on the ground going bad. I loathe seeing things wasted while people are going hungry. I have three trees that put out fruit this year. I wish I'd posted on here sooner. But if we don't get a late frost next year, we should have three plum trees with an over abundance of fruit come August. I would be more than happy to share. Mark your calendar =) and I'll post plum updates. I was told by a friend from the UK that these are called cherry plums in Britain and that they are prolific there and in France, where they are prized.

Annika-
That would be lovely! I have a marvelous black berry patch- literally miles of blackberries! I need to make a quick trip down to it soon to see if I can get one last harvest in. I would be more than happy to show you where it is so you can harvest them too, if you would like!
I too hate to see food rotting away when there is use for it!
