Nay, that's a thought I've had except use wispy netting or gause or something that is light and airy. Post links of anything you run across..lots of possibilities.

Steph-yeah....wispy white fabric is what I meant...um...word for it...ack..its sheer...all my scarves I just packed away are made of it....organza kind of, but much more drape to it...ooh I hate that...its right on the tip of my tongue(fingers?)...kind of a slinky material...floaty, thin, loose weave.... you get the picture...

WOO!HOO! Stephanie!!3000 posts!!!!!
It's no wonder you girls have the sniffles and such- it's too cold up there!!! We're at a balmy 39 degrees here-that's our winter- and we get all cold for a few days and then it's back to t-shirts!
Do you know I can't find a single person to buy hens from?????? I have to wait till spring and get chicks-uggh! I didnt want to do the baby thing-so much more work!

I moved to Alaska to be with my husband who got stationed there in the Army. The military has to be strong there because at one point it is only one mile across the ocean to Russia (what used to be called that). They have to constantly train for the cold weather...ski and mountain climbing. To be prepared for possible war in that climate.
We got divorced and I chose to live there as a single middle aged woman for several years. Then I got a bf and we came to PA together. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for the fantastic experience there...weather finally got to me....I had to leave. It is extremely cold in winter and winters are 9 months long. The average temp is about -20 (20 below zero) and for weeks much colder than that. Beautiful scenery...nothing impresses me after getting used to seeing that. I worked for a small airline who flew small single engine airplanes taking mail and groceries to villages with no road system...Native villages. Very challenging just to survive a winter there...I stayed for 8 years. Made a real woman out of me!!

Carol Sue, I hope you are feeling better today! I am still coughing my head off, but I feel better and I actually got my front room picked up last night!
Steph, Congrats on 3000 posts! I like the ceiling idea! You will have to show us pics when you get it done!
Linda, I don't think I could handle 9 months of winter!!
Hope everyone is staying warm today!!!

| How very cool Bonne...I searched that site for Nevada fleece but no such luck. Will have to check locally. Maybe I'll hit the fabric stores while in Reno today. Have to go pick up a vintage doll off Freecycle. No idea "who" she might be, but worth a check and have other stuff to do anyway. Like a 40% off entire purchase at the thrift store that expires tomorrow. Good friend who works at another thrift shop called me Sunday about something quilt related that had a $255 tag and she could get it for $10 (she gets 1/2 price). Told her if it doesn't fit my machine, would fit someones. She saw Viking on the package, so might be something Sheryl-lyn can use on hers. One hand washes another and I told her I love having a "personal shopper". Last time I was in the store when she was working, she showed me a Harley desk clock, still in box w/$50 tag from the dealer and it was marked $5...it's wrapped for Larry. Need to see her and get my Featherweight back, she used it to finish her tooth fairy pillows for Christmas orders when her machine quit. |

WOW!!!! 3000 posts!! That is such a milestone. Congrats, Steph!! Keep talking and you'll be at 6000 soon. YAY
I will post the picture of the quilt today or tomorrow. We are having company tonight and you know what that means...Shoving stuff in closets, under beds, you know? Christmas makes the house so cozy, but a little cluttered.
See you all later. We are getting a storm tonight and tomorrow too. Maybe a bit of snow, but rain too. It's messy when that happens.

Bonne, I like that colorado fleece..
Linda, what a woman!!!
Nay, yeah, flowing, drapey, etc....
Well, let's see.... Bill O'Reilly on Fox News always announces the "pinhead" of the day for folks that just are plain stupid or outrageous....so I'm naming my pinhead of the day to the girl that setup our new electric account for the cabin...obviously, she had to email me the app to fill out, notarized signatures, send back then they debit my checking account the deposit amount...$125...there that seemed simple enough..did everything correctly and timely....
long story short....she NEVER even looked at the application..I told her it was for a residence and not an overnight rental..ok..the app reflects that....I look at my online banking this morning and they debited from our acct $1047.08...Got on the phone and she was just so nonchalant....oh, I made an error...was looking 3 different things at once and saw an overnight rental....so sorry BUT we did issue a credit in that amount this morning..
All I can say is UNFREAKING REAL!!!!! and yes that was a scream..LOL So now I'm waiting for her to email me the proof that they issued a credit to my account for that amount..it should show up tonight if they did..
So how has your morning started out? I think I got feed everyone's overdose for this day..LOL

Karin, I just hate you and your stunningly over-the-top-out-of-this-world gorgeous quilts!! And look at all those cat ornaments!! (I've got 1~wheeee!!!)
Steph, what if that deduction had made other clearing items bounce?!! What then? overdraft charges, that's what~that could have been an absolute nighmare. Dumb chick....
