Happy 600th page to us!!!

Ronna, NO you didn't slide by the "photo shoot" LOL...you have to post a picture...I finally got over it..I always take bad photos and always think I look fat...so if I can get over it so can you..so there! Boy, you got some deals! But you always do...that's why you are the Queen of Treasures! I can safely say if it's to be had that you probably have atleast one of it..LOL

Autumn, I love the crawfish apron...you can take the boy out of Louisiana but you can't take Louisiana out of the boy! And that's a good thing.

Jess, I found the machines in my photobucket...lost them in all the files on my harddrive so I was thrilled to find them..I love that Gibbs!! There was a sewing shop I found mohths ago but is about 20 miles from me..well, passed by and wouldn't you know she had a collection of old machine and she had a tiny Gibbs machine! So I finally remember to take my digital with me a few months ago to get a photo of it and she had gone out of business!! rats!! I never realized how tiny that machine was...it was precious. just like a cresent moon..so cute..

Nite, nite to all...Maybe Bev will show herself tomorrow...gotta go check her blog to see the progress on the house.

Stephanie ~ Oh, my kids would go nuts with your little dog! They have a grand ole time at our family doc's office since the receptionist crates her dog under her desk during the day - so going to the doctor is *fun* because they get to play with a dog.

Jessica ~ What a cutie! Was she born at home? The photo of you and her after birth just reminded me much more of my midwife's photos than other birth photos I've seen...

Baby meadow in the magic valley... Hahaha.. I've had four pregnancies, and have yet to have that "talk" with my parents.

Okay, I'll add to the photo insanity.

My little girl's announcement...

Aha, finally, a photo with me somewhere in it:

GOOD MORNING!!!! Well we did it!
Monica,Teresa ,Lanna- great to see you! All of you have adorable families! SUch a bunch of cuties!!!!!

RONNA- pictures are forthcoming????? We wont let you off that easy!!!!
By the way- if one of you comes across an old doll around the early 60's called Thumbelina , for a good price let me know.
I had one when I was small and my daughter wanted one for her baby due in March. I'm not looking for a collectible-I dont think they are anyway. It just has a unique look and it's small.
As a kid I thought she was so ugly

Blessings,

Yes Lanna, all 8 of my kids were born at home...wouldn't have it any other way. I believe Autumn has had some at home as well...at least one of her beautiful brood...and someone else who is a regular long timer here as well, cannot think of who though..maybe I am too tired and I made it up, not sure.

happy Anniversary Ronna and larry..when is he due back anyway. If you need pics posted again Ronna, just send em to me and I will throw em up on the board for yoou.

What fun to see all the pictures ! I just tried posting one of me and it didn't work, I thought I had conquered the problem, but apparently my ancient face is just too grisly for the world to view....

Ronna, sounds like you had fun, the doll and the quilts sound great. I am swearing off thrift shops for a while, except maybe taking some stuff to them...ha..we'll see how long that lasts. My son suggested a three year moratorium for me.

Steph, Miss Morgan looks so cute in her little outfits, and the giant pink crochet is lovely....

The good news here is that my car is ready so i can go pick it up at one o'clock. Now I just have to dig up a ride from the rental place to the body shop. This should be amusing....

Cold here, spitting snow at the moment, but it doesn't look like it is going to amount to much.....

Hope you are all well and warm, the warm bit is always my top priority...

Karin

yes the warm bit...cannot stand th ecold but i know we need it to make the flowers gorgeous in the summer.

Well girls. My hubs has been on his own for years, his office is in our barn and he has another office out of town about an hour or so away. He knows his job extremely well, so much so that the big companies are always calling him for advice and tutoring. He has recently decided to move out of the barn to a space downtown, should give him a real presence in the community. He already has a good rep, but his will be a fab place for him. It is currently an art gallery adn he intends to keep it mostly an art gallery since the walls and lighting are already there. And well, we love art and artists. Anyhow, with all that has changed in the field in the last few months, head hunters have been dropping in on him like crazy. He really likes the freedom of working for himself as far as going to all the kids things adn working throughthe night when he has to, etc. But we would love the security and benefits of working for someone else, and as it is now, he can make tons of money, or just a little bit depending on the month and how deadlines fall. He makes really great money, but we have big bills, you know, a lot of kids, private school tuition, sports, music lessons, food, gas, property taxes. Anyway, as a lot of people are struggling, he makes good money, but we are struggling as well. and the flip side is if he goes to work for a big vcompany, you never know when they are gonna walk in and let everyone go. As it is now he knows when business is good adn when it is not and what he has to do to make it better. Anyway, my point is that he has agreed to meet one of these head hunters for lunch today and it is making me very nervous. I know it will be pretty much the same job with all his same contacts, and his regulars ad such, just under someone elses roof, but ugh...I have that pit you know. Not all the time, but a lot of the time he makes these decisions without me, not that he is trying to make me nuts, that is just how he is. And, I have never gone hungry, nor have my kids, so I know he he makes sound decisions, I am just not very good with unknowns, or change maybe. And I have never been one to have too much confidence in desk jobs, I like to see people doing physical labor, that always seems so valuable to me..I know what he does is valuable...you know what I mean? Anyway, ok, got it off my chest, now I feel much better. Thanks for listenin' to me jabber on.

I know, it's not the same.
Here's Thumbelina:

yeah, she is pretty ugly, but I never liked dolls that looked like babies~I wanted Barbies. ;)
Wasn't there a Tumblelina ? I thought there was a doll that did somersaults....

Bonne, there was a gymnast doll in the 90s, pretty sure she was supposed to do somersaults...not sure what her name was though....

WOW!! Everyone was busy on here last night. I went to bed early since I didn't sleep much the night before. We are having a white New Years here. It started snowing early this morning and is supposed to last until this evening.
Jess~What does your husband do? I can totally relate with that feeling. Praying things work out well. It is great to be independent and work for yourself but there are also benefits to working for someone else. I am sure that he will weigh them carefully and make the right decision. It is difficult to just wait and find out. I don't like change and uncertainty either.
I did make an owl hat. I can't post pictures until we get our new monitor.

Congratulations to all the chatty ladies who helped us make it to 600. I loved all the pictures. It is nice to put a name with a face. I will post one when I get the new monitor. I hate all my pictures though.

I am trying to open and Etsy shop. Does anyone know how to make a banner for Etsy? What are some good tips for a complete newbie? I have no idea if this is set up the right way with Paypal and all those details. I would appreciate any help.

Blessings,
Ruth
