ok i am tired and i wanna go to bed, but i have a small top that now i am feeling like hand quilting hanging back there...my excuse befoer is that i had no back picked out for it yet, but in my box of stuff from Steph around when the babe was born, the perfect backing was in there, so my excuse since then has been the babe or birthdays, or xmas, or cleaning, now no xmas, nobdays, babeis sleeepin, house is clean, except laundry, ran out of detrgent and havent gone out to get more.. so i should get on it

YEP! Retreat in the warm sultry heat of louisiana!!! Ya'll would only like it for about 2-3 days then you'd be wondering what in the world is up with your hair!!! We were out in short sleeves and flip flops today- it was warm!!!! I sooo want to plant things- but we will get some cool weather in February so I have to wait!!!!
Got my tags on the 31st!!!! Almost forgot that!

Teresa, is the other side of the quilt patterned the same? It would show all the hand work so much more if it was plain. Don't think I'd ever get one done hand quilting, good for you. I'll let you know when the $$ is here and will have to see where I set the box to be safe and not mixed with the other sets. Thanks Carol Sue, stay warm and cozy, good for you and you need to let the muscles relax and rest. Online DMV closed for the night, can do it tomorrow which is the due date. Yipppeeee. Larry would have a fit if he knew I procrastinated. He pays bills the same day they come in or maybe next, never lets them sit. |

night everyone. think my Lab has warmed up my side of the bed, so nice of her. she even moves over when I'm ready and doesn't growl. don't think I've heard her growl but Larry says she doesn't like some dogs and wants to fight. sweetie to me, that's what I like. Teresa, shipping shouldn't be much, usually around $10. Have something for your girls too, so will send together. |

Geez, I go off to try and take charge of my house again, and there's a bazillion new posts! But, I can say, my pantry just rocks. Seriously, it does. Granted, I have stacks of empty jar overflow into the main basement room, but the pantry itself has a floor again, things are categorized, etc. Will just move a handful of things come seed starting time, and yay! Progress! Next up is the perpetual mess in the dining room and kitchen. Because we dare to eat and do projects. *sigh* People with spotless houses? Wanna come over to mine? I swear our shag carpeting helps boost immune systems!
Took just the 5yo on errands with me today. Oh geez. Won't make that mistake again. But he really wants a train blanket (not just a little 10 inch one with ribbons to chew on), so I took him to the quilt shop with the super cute fabrics (Hancock's is closer, but not as many fun fabrics). He got yellow with lots of trains. And he's been bugging me about making it all day. Maybe tomorrow. I'm still basking in the happiness of having the pantry done.
Jessica ~ *snort* You're so right about the elephant/donkey comment. Even made hubby crack a smile.

Good morning. I woke up around five, crept downstairs to get my pain pills, forgot my flexoril again last night, and I take it three times a day so when I forget my body quickly reminds me, now if I could just get my brain to remind me.
Bonne, i was very impressed with the reminder you made for Ronna. she 8s going to have to find that machine now that she is on the apron list, I haven't located just the right fabric yet so have nothing done on that front....
Ronna, now that sounds like a much smarter way to do enchiladas. I'll do that the next time I make some. I haven't made tamales in years, but ooh they are lovely. My husband and I lived in Tucson for a few years many years ago and loved being able to get all that great mexican food. When we moved back here the pickin's were mighty slim. One time George spotted a Mexican food stand right outside the Maine State Prison. He wanted to try it out, but I didn't feel prison tacos calling me...
Naomi, I'm looking forward to seeing your quilt. You make so many amazing things, I know I will be dazzled. I love looking at everyones's creations.
Teresa, your wholecloth quilt is so pretty, and you did a luscious job quilting it. Now you have to get your mom to post some of her quilting....
Carol Sue, jeez woman, I wish it would stop snowing in your neck of the woods, we did get rain to clear the driveways, but the snow has a nice thick crust of ice. I like a little snow on the ground to brighten things up, the brown is starting to seep through in places.
I just coated my shoulders and my back with mentholated goo, I used a rubber spatula because if i do it with my hands i inevitably rub my eyes, and even after handwashing it tends to make them dribble. I rubbed my eyes the other night after chopping peppers for Mexican food, that was brilliant. Oh well, maybe it will help with the cataracts that my eye doctor claims i am getting.
Steph, you must be going bonkers waiting to get into that fabulous house. It is going to be such a wonderful adventure, settling in and the views are just so gorgeous.
Right, the pain pills are starting to cooperate so I guess i'll go back to bed for a little bit before i head to the laundry pile.....

Good morning everyone. Today is my last day of total freedom! Well, at least I have a job that I love, even if it means I cannot sew all day, every day and talk to my friends online.
I think it would be an excellent idea for us to all bring our quilt tops to one place and sew until we were done!! We would be hairy, stinky and exhausted, but it would be so worth it.
I put the fabrics I got onto my blog this morning. They are already cut and ready for making into aprons. Cannot wait to make them.
Carol Sue!! It was so great to see your face this morning, and your little kitty!! I feel like I know you even better now.
Naomi: Get that quilt done. We need to see it!
Theresa: On my way to your blog to see yours!

OMG! Teresa's quilt is so beautiful! The scallops and all! I do strictly utilitarian squares and tie them and I'm sure I don't even do that right, but they're warm that's all I want~lol Quite often what I do, in order to get projects finished that I consider a PIA, is donate, give or trade them in their current state. Out of sight, out of mind~on to a new project. Too bad women don't meet up regularly for sewing/quilting bees like the old days~it was a way for women to bond with each other and reaffirm their "woman-power" and spirituality that's been lost.
