I second Bonne's comment about Teresa's quilt. It is totally amazing. And those scalloped edges? Wonderful.

Great idea for getting rid of those nuisance projects, Bonne. I have been giving more away as each month goes by. Feels good.

I subscribed in early November to MJF and still have not received one. I called and they said I should be receiving the Dec/Jan issue. I didn't receive and ended up buying it. I hope I get this new one soon.

Jess~the cleaning fairies were here but were soon gone. The tree was down and everything clean but since we've been home all weekend we have the lived in look and not so clean. I think I have some messy goblins here.

This cough of mine won't leave and I get a headache from this darn coughing. I hate taking medication so I haven't taken anything yet. I need an herbal remedy. I can't take the pressure on my chest much longer.
Alright enough complaining and whining!

Which Monopoly are you playing Ruth? This Hasbro rep has to be nosy and ask. If I had a nickel for every game I touched this holiday, I'd be rich and retired. So many different ones out and they still sell like crazy.
Got my car tags paid, thanks to Steph's reminder last night. Don't know what the late fees would have been and don't want to know.
Mid teens here last night and mid 20's now, but the snow and rain have passed us by-and that's okay.
Cute apron (or anything) fabric Sheryl-lyn. Cheaper than a $167k gun, for sure! That's absurd, but know there are people out there who will gladly pay the price.
Karin, Dr used to rx 3x day for Flexeril but I never have taken it other than bedtime. It is a good med, no doubt and if you need it that's important to keep taking it. And not forget until your body cries out in pain to remind you. Pain is not good, ever, other than to let us know we have an issue to be addressed.

Okay, can somebody tell me where the global warming is going on at because it's not at my house! It was 30 this morning and very windy and freezing!!!!

Teresa, the quilt is beautiful! I love the rose fabric and as everyone else has already said the scallops are great

Carol Sue, I hope you stay warm up there! It's great to see your picture along with everyone else!

Karin, I hope you are feeling better!

Bonne, how far are you on the mini's? I still have to start mine! Do you know how many we are making?

Ruth, I make a cough syrup of equal parts of honey, lemon and brandy! You just mix equal amounts and then take 1 tsp. as needed! The tiny bit of brandy helps break up congestion! The other thing I make for the kids that seems to work is garlic lemonade! I know it doesn't sound great, but it actually doesn't taste bad at all! To make it, simmer 1Tbs. minced garlic in a quart of water for 1/2 hour. Strain and add 1 more quart of water! Drink warm with honey and lemon! One other thing that works is put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on the shower floor and take a warm, steamy shower. If you don't have the oil, you can use Vick's vapor rub or even muscle rub! Just DON'T PUT IT ON IN A WARM SHOWER, ONLY ON THE FLOOR OR IN A CUP JUST FOR THE VAPORS!!!!!

I have one top to quilt and one to finish and it sounds like such fun to get together with all of you!! I know it wouldn't happen for me though unless I could get my mom to fly out and stay while I am gone and while my hubby likes my mom fairly well he would probably shoot me for this one!!

I finished my 2-ply yarn last night and I even got it washed so I may get around to posting it on my blog today! I think I am going spend most of the day next to the fireplace with my spinning wheel! It's just too cold to do much except stay warm by the fire!

Well, I will talk to you all later! Stay warm!

I've got 30 planned so far~seems someone drops out or adds on but it won't be hard to add a couple more. I've got about 7 complete and the rest in partial stages. I have to knock them out early otherwise it hangs over my head and I don't like that feeling.

Ruth: Maybe you could take airborne. It usually helps me when a cold is coming on. Then I take it a few times a day when I feel yukky. Feel better!!

Jess: You guys will sleep so well tonight. I remember those long walks with my kids (and then later the bikerides) and they always seemed so relaxed later. Ken and I went for a walk in the cold this afternoon. The woodstove feels so great after that.

Ruth, that does not sound good about your chest girl, now you want to laugh, I was somewhere, I think the health one and it was written that you put Vicks Vaporub on the bottom of your feet when you go to bed and you don't cough at night. I figured why not, it actually worked. If you have it, try it, anything is better than that horrendous coughing. Get better sweetie.

Lanna, yeah, there you are!!!! Great job with your pantry, and I bet you will bask in that for a few days. Good for you getting er done.

Show my quilt tops, I don't think I have one here that is totally finished, lots in motion, will try and see what I can do about that one.

Oh Karin, I am laughing so hard reading about the rubber spatula, easier to reach all those places that way too. And hot peppers in the eye, ehhh gads that would hurt big time.

Thanks for the compliments on the pictures girls, it has been grand seeing all your faces.

Resting again today because body screaming at me, not an option.
Good excuse for playing on the apron....lol

As bad as burning eyes from hot pepper on your hands, you surely don't want to be using the bathroom unless you want to be dancing around with burning privates. Really best to use rubber gloves for any hot pepper prep to be safe. Same with any of the hot pepper based pain salves and creams. Ouch

oh ronna you havent done anything with your blog yet and you need to post it under your signature

and we may just have to have all the kids with us for that quilt finishing party. we could just hire a couple of sitters to help out with them and besides the kids would have a riot that way too. oh yeah and we need to get someone to give us back rubs so that we can keep going without the pain or strain. oh maybe a hot spring near by lol

Sometimes I can get all the kids in a happy mood when I need to run errands, but with the different nap times and just general crankiness from basically being snowed in (they can't get their energy out from running around - our house isn't that big, and the 2.5yo is freaked out about going outside since the snow's as tall as him). Yesterday I was trying to get other things done before the fabric store, which was my 5yo's only goal. It'll get better when they're not so tempted to run into oncoming cars and only use screeching as their primary form of communication, right? (and boy, do I sure adore that evil stare I get from older people when I grab a distracted/excited kid by the coat and yank them back on the sidewalk when a car's coming...)

I am in awe of you Jess, taking all the kids for a bike ride. This summer I felt awkward enough helping the 5yo bike with the 2.5yo in the wagon with a bushel of apples and dismantled apple picker with the babe on my back.

Here's my pantry (http://weblog.xanga.com/LannaM/688236066/one-room-down.html) that I'm all proud of. :)

Jess' kids are busy all the time, between sports and crafts and all they do year round. No whining allowed when you have 8 with the oldest 11..I think, is Lexi 11? If everyone had a family as close and well behaved as hers, would be no problems.

Sorry it is so big!! I made this today with the fabric I got yesterday. I had some problems with the directions (specifically the pocket--couldn't make it the way the directions said to) but once I just decided to forget the pocket, it went by fast. That is Rob's tiny girlfriend modeling it for me.
