Oh my Jess, I read your account of your day yesterday...and truly I was feeling sorry for you and also LMAO because you write such a great mental picture!! You really should keep a journal...someday a book would be a great idea.

Ruthie....yes, I want owl hats, too. At least 2 adult hats for now and probably more after that! I think we can keep you in business on this thread right here.

Ok, so keep your fingers crossed for us gals, we showed the house on Sunday and the people are coming back today...of course that means I have to clean it again today. Anyways, they are coming to take measurements. That is especially good news considering we don't even have it on the market yet...we have just spread word of mouth that we are selling (it is a condo in town) to move to the farm full time.

The log home is coming along. Yesterday the logs for the 2nd floor arrived, the roof trusses go up next week and all the windows go in the following week. It will be great to have it under roof and start the inside at that point. I am hoping all will be completed by June.July. Our contractor has his whole crew working on it...no other projects so things should progress quickly...weather permitting.

So sorry I never seem to get completely caught up with all of you....I think of you everyday and wonder what is happening with you all....bear with me till life gets simpler.

Hugs......

I just stumbled on this particular site..647 pages!!! How does anyone keep up?I have had a book addition for a long time.I did not realize just how bad it was until one of my kids asked me "Mom just how many books do you have anyway?'So I counted..over 1000..There are books in every single room of this crooked little house. The mistake I made was telling him so now the whole family has been laughing but they still come here for info..There are worse things in life to be addicted to!

Good morning, ladies!!

The kids are working on math so I have a few minutes to check in here.

You guys are great. I think I will be making owl hats for the next year. I promise to be busy and get them out as soon as I can. Just let me know colors and sizes folks. I will be taking time to go through all my email today and write down everyones' orders. I may go blind with this darn old screen. The new monitor came in but no plug, now we wait patiently for the plug.

Stephanie~Thanks for the idea of putting the picture on my blog. I haven't updated it because of the monitor. Can't wait to do it. Sorry about your vision. Both my parents have had cataracts and surgery. Now my dad has glaucoma.

Jess~I hope you are feeling better.

Karin~I also have a thrift and book addiction. With homeschooling I also acquire alot of books and I know I need to pass some along but I haven't gotten to it.

Sheryl-lyn~Wow a class trip to D.C.. That must be difficult. We went to D.C. a couple of years back. It was the first week in July and it was HOT! We walked all over that city. It was fun!!!

I will definitely need to try that pizza recipe. My kids love pizza and it is expensive, even the frozen ones at the grocery store.

Gotta go check some papers,
Ruth

Making a shawl from pattern I got from the knit-along person. I saw some pics of the shawl on the forum too. (I made simple square dishcloth but if you don't do the decreases then it stays a triangle). pattern is basicly Knit 2, YO (yarn over) then knit to end.
It is started with only 4 stitches and gets as big as you want.
It's soft sugar and cream cotton...I'm getting bored with it because it is so simple. I'm going to finish it and move on to make mini aprons! LOL

Yeah,Linda- me too! All I can do is keep up. Farm chores keeping me busy too.

Just had word my sweet friend ,Caroline , has gone to be with God. So sad, but she was ready and did not have to suffer long.

Ill catch up later.

Safe journey to Caroline, ((Autumn))

Oh, Linda, you had to go and remind me about mini-aprons. They're my excuse for not getting around to other sewing.
In the way, ya know? lol We've got hurricane force winds today and temps in the high 50's. What a freaky January.

So sorry to hear Autumn.

We had an ice storm last night. Everything is covered in ice and it is going to rain all day. It is quite a mess out there. Everything is flooding and then it will all turn to ice tonight.

Good morning girl,

Doesn't sound like anyones New Year is off to a good start. I spent the better part of the day yesterday at hospital for severe back pain. Finally walked away with a shot in the but and a scrip to help it go away. I will survive it I just get to point where i can't deal with it. Chronic from a car accident like some of the rest of you who just learn to live with pain.

Autumn so sorry about your friend glad to that she didn't have to suffer long like so many do.

I can knit and purl but that.s it for me and crocheting no.

Linda~Share pics. I can't wait to see what you are making.

OK! With these owl hats in production how am I going to find time to make 32 mini aprons for the swap and a tea cozy. I will need to go into hibernation for a couple of weeks. LOL Oh!yeah! I forgot about the pillowcase swap, too. What was I thinking? Maybe a superwoman complex for a bit there. I guess no homeschooling only sewing and crocheting. I have two really cute tea cozy patterns and don't know which one to choose.

Autumn, this has been a rough road for you with family and friends, hope it's come to a screeching halt. Always better when those we care about don't linger and suffer.
Feel better today, not good but better. How are you Jess and Emilia?
Yes, Naomi, after I hit 'send', remembered that your mom has my sourdough starter too. Will be a bunch of postings with it being featured in the new MJF mag, has already started. That makes 3 out of probably a dozen I sent out. You'd think it's valuable or a part of me, but does aggravate me when I make the effort to share and it's tossed after one use cause people can't be bothered.
Ruth will be really busy with all her needlework projects. I'd say it's a big compliment when those who are capable of knitting want what you've made.
Teresa, how weird for you to have had macular degeneration issues so young. Was it wet or dry kind? My MIL said each time the barometric pressure changed more than a tiny bit, it would cause more vision loss for her. ONe day I was over while she was having lunch, sitting in an easy chair and told her the napkin was covered with ants...her reply was they'd not eat very much and she just brushed them away. If she was really mad, she'd be "perturbed", that was the extent of her anger. Interesting lady.

Ruthie, you've been hanging around Jess for too long~it's starts to make you think like you're a slacker if you don't accomplish a plethora of projects each day~lol

I know I'm a slacker in comparison to all of you. Amazing to read and see what you accomplish. I've always admired those with lots of energy who get so much done every day.

Jess~I went to AC Moore and bought two magazines-Crochet and Crochet Today. They each had a cozy pattern in them. They are both so cute. One looks like a cupcake and another has flowers on it.

Bonne~Too funny.

Thank you, Ronna.

Yeah! I wasn't too fond of the ones online either. I saw these and I liked both of them. Not sure which one I will make. Are you crocheting yours or sewing?
