Sheryl and Bev are both one woman whirlwinds.

thanks Autumn.

yes I am thrilled about the windows, from a 100 yr old house and they have already been stripped, and they are all the funky shaped ones that are not a standard size!

Thank you Jess and Bonne. The money would come in handy. I am a SAHM and homeschool. I only work one night a week. I clean a drs. office on Fridays. I know~so glamorous. Hubby asked me the other day why I bother because it only pays $40 a week and I told him I needed to support my addiction~yarn, magazines and books. It's not even enough for all of that. LOL
Jess~I am so up for that spa. Can't afford it either. Do you think they'll accept $40? Okay~I'll save up to $100. Not sure how I would get there. LOL

I would do a school like schedule while the kids are home. I would even include a short rest time for everyone. Games, crafts, even doing some jumping jacks and things like that to get the energy out. For the rest time if they give you a hard time, you can try a small rewards chart.

Ruth: I would love to buy some hats from you. A big one for me and a few baby ones. I'll email you to get payment info and your address. Can't wait. We have quite a few owls living in the trees by our house, and my husband and I will shut the tv off to listen to them when they are hooting away. The hat will be a happy reminder of that.

Tonight I was working on another apron and some of my blocks for BOM coming up. Most nights when I am working, I get to sew about 1/2 hour or so. Years ago, if I did not have the time to do a whole project in a short time, I would not start one. Now, I know that the 15-30 minute rule does get a lot done!! 15-30 minutes every day (at least!!) and I get a ton of stuff done. Plus, I have a very limited social life (get enough socializing at school--seriously)so I just sew!

Jess: a spa would be fantastic. Maybe near Autumn's house so we can be warm and have fun at the same time!!

Ronna: I just made pizza tonight! It was so delicious. I think I will make a few and freeze them like you said. Then we I am busy at school (which is getting ramped up very soon with drama club, the class trip, etc) I can make it in 15 minutes. Great!

Oh Jess, sounds dreadful, I hope you are starting to recover, as I recall strep was always quite the horror show when it made the rounds here. I have been through the dead car routine with my children years ago, but I only had two so it wasn't such a hardship. Winter really tests our coping skills.

My daughter sucked me in to taking her to a few thrift stores, I had recently vowed to lay off for some time, she was looking for something specific for a friend. I behaved myself at the first one, found a really goofy dress at the second one, and then, the giant bookshelf exhibit at the last stop really sucked me in. I am always amazed at some of the wonderful books people pass along. I got a big bagful, and I will try to pass them on when I am done. I got a few books for my kids too. It could have been worse. Zan managed to find what she was looking for too.

Teresa, I hope your migraine is better. I used to have them years ago, now I only get the sinus ones and the occasional stress headache. It is hard to be Mom with little one when you are feeling so bad.

It feels very cold here tonight, but at least the wind is not howling...The upstairs of this house is much colder than the downstairs, especially my room. I think it is going to be an early night for me...

Sherly-lyn, if you still have sourdough starter, it's good to add a 1/2 cup or so to the dough too. I know you like sourdough. Teresa can get some from her Dad, I shared with him too.
When you realize the cost of buying pizza and how inexpensive it is to make, silly to not make your own. I used a 2# $10 brick of mozzarella, the most pricey ingredient, for 24 small and 3 big pizzas. I often use canadian bacon, it's tasty and not anywhere as greasy/fatty as pepperoni

yes bonne...i was thinking the same...sure karin, blame zan.

i used to keep starter, but gave it to sis, not sure if she keeps up, i used to bake bread daily, but now, not so on top of things, i never really got back on track after that kidney infection in july...that really kicked my butt.

Sheryl, do u always go to the same destination on class trip, or is it different from yr to yr?

Ronna: I still have that sourdough and use it all the time. I have used it for pizza and love it.

Jess: We take our 8th graders to Washington, DC for 3 days every year. It's a lot of fun, but a lot of work to get ready for it.

Oh Jess!! You poor sick woman....the adventures in a day of your life have me peaking out from under a rock right now...good grief woman...you know this had to happen because you've always pretty much got it together so today all hell has to break loose to remind you of your limits.

Karin, the book section always sucks me in....

Jess, glad you got all the windows...now we just need summer to get here!

Ruth, the owl hats are just so cute...you need to put them on your blog sidebar with a price. I bet you'd pick up some $$ here and there..I think the adults like them more than a kid would..LOL

I always swear I won't bring home any more books and just tend to gravitate over towards them anyway. sometimes I buy one I already have and that's nutso.
Who's gonna come finish cleaning up my messy house tomorrow? drats, guess it's me again. my mess, my job to clean it up, right? Not liking myself very well right now, should have been all done and getting the crud would not matter. Without deadlines, I probably wouldn't get anything done. 5 1/2 weeks for mini aprons now???
Sheryl-lyn, glad the sourdough still lives at your house. I think you and Jo in Alaska might be the only two left from those I sent to on MJF.

Let's see I saw some commenting on Teresa's migraine?? Hope you feel better soon...

Ronna, you still have the grud?? Is it your fibro or something else?

Ok, think I caught up again..

Now for my eye appointment summary Last January the Opthalmologist spotted the beginnings of cataracts..tiny..but there none the less...not surprizing since both my parents have dealt with them but not at my young age..they generally start seeing them develop in the mid to late 50's....so yahoo for me, I'm at the front of the line..(yes, being a smarta&&)...sooooooo anyhow....dammit, they are what is causing this progression of my "bad" distance vision and it can only be slightly improved with the new RX she came up with today.....so I guess just another kick in the butt..really upset me to know that new glasses will not fix me up, ya know? I can't drive through a large city with all the big green interstate signs...I can't read them til it's too late! Yes, I need a huge wedge of cheese to go with this whine! But needed to throw a small fit...and y'all are always here to watch..LOL

Not good eye news Steph. good thing is the advances in eye surgery and you'll adjust until that time comes. Just think how much worse the diagnosis could have been. My MIL was so upset with the macular degeneration, with all her reading and needlework for so many years. Many years older than any of us, though. She got books on tape, but know it bothered her to not have her hands busy all the time. My SIL with coke bottle glasses for 60 years just had lasik surgery and is amazed-only needs glasses to read now. You'll just have to keep in the small towns when it gets bad...or one of us can come be your driver for hitting the big cities for finding wonderful goodies...that sounds good.
Yes, still cruddy, heading to shower or bath now and then bed for maybe another night of chills and sweats. I do think my bod does this as part of some autoimmune crap, not the first or last I'm sure.

so steph you cant feel too bad about being young when you get am eye problem, i was twenty three when i was diagnosed with macular degenartion ha ha ha nice joke huh well usually people get it in their late fifties or sixties but my body wanted to be special and they still cant tell me why i got it(that was the most frustrating part)

head is doing a little better but its kinda my own fault i decided to kick my pop habit(cold turkey), so its some of my own doing and i havent been on a good sleep routine and that always makes things better so gonna fix that one

Yes, the bright side is atleast they can get rid of cataracts..it could be alot worse...my vision is not bad enough for my insurance to pay for it though....arggggg...you gotta be about blind before they cover it. So I think the surgery is now about $3000.

Teresa, my grandmother was diagnosed with macular degeneration at 75 years old..she lived to be a few months under 100. She had the largest magnifying glass I'd ever seen (at that time) ..think I was about 20 years old with perfect vision.

So yes, the macular deg....is not funny...no joke..hopefully it is progressing very very slowly, ya know? I hope so anyway.

You know better than to stop the caffeine cold turkey! I remember when I got off caffienated coffee..it just about killed me..had headaches for several weeks then I was ok..stupid me didn't think to just mix decaf in with caffienated to slowly withdraw. Now I'm off coffee totally....only hot tea for me since my gut decided to go nuts last year.

yeah i know but i had lazer surgery and havent had a problem again so for now its cured but we keep a close eye on it and thankfully i am only missing a small part of my vision in the one eye.

i'm not coming off the caffeine all of the way just off of the pop its caused me to gain weight and i am sick of it.

Yes, it was wicked of me to blame the girl for my complete relapse into the thrifting zone again. I've never been to three in one day, that was pretty hardcore. Usually Zan tells me not to go in. The first place we went to has a mazzive assortment of wedding gowns. It's really something. The second one pretty dreadful, but now I know the third one has such a wonderful assortment of books that place could be trouble.

Zan and I are taking my son to our favorite used bookstore this coming weekend, he is in need of some reading material and the local library won't give him a card because he only has a post office box. He was quite upset, and asked if he couldn't borrow just one book? It's a pretty lousy library anyway.

Went to bed a while ago, finished my book. Couldn't sleep so of course I decided to check in here...
