Too funny with Zeb and Shirley.
Bonne~When will you be sending those warm temps this way?
I hate the peanut butter recalls. We like alot of things with peanut butter. I guess this is another reason to make your own things at home.
Jess~They will release those secret family recipes to you slowly-don't want to pass on to many secrets at once. LOL

i hope my dogs dont get sick
i have never spent a dime on my cat, he is so low maintenance..well, I should clarify that, he is a neutered boy, so that cost $, and he gets his shots, but besides that, he has never had an issue, he turned 10 this fall, so I have been lucky, but I have also done some of his vet care myslef, like when he gets in fights adn gets all cut up and such, or my neighbors dog caught him last summer, that was fun

$12,00 for a machine. Not in my life time. I am still paying dh back for my SE.
Gals, yes, it is very sick. I didn't have any problems with the stitching switching om me prior to taking it in. I know a lot of people who use it for business in some shape or form. I had taken it in to be serviced around September of last year. This is the longest I have been without the machine. I only had problems with the stitching and of course, I could not get the lid to go down. He told me that the clip that holds the lid together was missing. I was also told that there were some small parts which were broken. I guess it is like us. We think that we feel good, but who knows what is happening on the inside.

I'm making cinnamon rolls today. Have them rising. Used the bread machine to mix the dough~they're looking awesome. They turned out so fab when I made a batch at son's yesterday.
If you make your own soap to use in a laundry recipe, make sure you do 0% superfat. You don't want any excess oils in your laundry soap. That's why the soap "grandma used to make" was so harsh. It wasn't superfatted because it needed to be used for many things~laundry, scrubbing floors etc. etc. Superfatted soap will leave deposits in your clothing and in your washing machine mechanisms.

I just read a few pages..and sorta caught up! Poor Sharon...sick machine (((huggs))) now I'm hungry for sourdough starter (kidding) and brownies and Italian sauce yum I'm going to write the Brownie recipe down for sure
I made a yellow cake last night...with Danny boy's help. Would you believ he never heard of "licking the bowl"...! what a mother I am!! it was strange to him..! I made homemade frosting with boiled sugar, vanilla and cream cheeze. Cooked and stirred it forever...but it turned out like I wanted...hard like candy on the cake....I made him some lollipops by dipping a wooden spoon in the cooking frosting and let it cool...he loved them.
Got a migraine today....waaahhhh...... nothing's like this kinda pain...just lying around

Oh, and another bread baking tidbit. I was shopping at my India Market and of course they have flour made from all kinds of sources, and I found a big bag of stoneground "durum" wheat. I paused and thought about it and took it home. Durum is supposed to be the hardest of the wheats, so I figured it may be good to use for bread (traditionally it's used for pasta) Here's what I found about it: "Durum Flour. Durum flour is a creamy, silky fine golden flour milled from durum wheat, which is different from the hard wheats that are used for almost all bread making. It grows in very cold climes, such as Montana and Manitoba, as well as the great Tavoliere plain in Puglia, on the heel of the boot in southern Italy. Durum flour is the hardest kind of wheat. It is very high in gluten and, contrary to general opinion, makes wonderful bread, either alone or in combination with all-purpose flour."
I used it in my cinnamon rolls 1/2 all purpose flour and 1/2 durum flour and I'm getting incredibly nice rise to it compared to 100% all purpose. I'm going to mix up a batch of bread with it next 50/50 and see what kind of loaf I get out of it. It's going to smell like an Italian bakery in here soon. lol "Zeb" is out enjoying the sunshine and meeting new "friends". He'll get to play in my bread recipes in another week.
