Actually, he promised that he would keep his whole crew at our place until finished...there are 6 of them. We are so happy about that. They are there every day...even in that brutal cold. They use our little A frame each day to warm up for their lunch and break. It has been such a positive experience so far....our builder is just a small operation.

Remember when shag carpet first came into vogue? LOL!! gawd, what a tragedy that turned out to be. Oftentimes, going with the classics is a safer bet than latching on to the latest 'trend'. My BIL still has the original shag carpet in his house~he just keeps cleaning it. I go crazy whenever we go to his house and see those 70's kitchen cupboards too. Can't wait to see Bev's finished product!

Bonne....I just said that to Hubbs yesterday....if I have to pack up everything and put it into storage...that is going to make a huge problem with putting up all that food that I grow in the garden. There is a tiny stove in the A-frame, so I guess I can do it there...but what a pain in the A..

Our builder is the sweetest guy...short story...
He is a Mennonite man with 8 beautiful children and the nicest wife. He built his own log home and a friend of ours' too. Well, one day we were meeting with him and he wanted to take some notes...so he pulled out this little notebook from his pocket and started to thumb through the pages. It took him a bit of time and he started to laugh. His little ones had drawn pictures on each of the pages....sooooooo cute. He just laughed and had a big grin on his face. We LOVE him...he is salt of the earth wonderful.

I think you're going to have to run a "U-Pick" fruit farm during that time. Would be a PIA to try and can with a tiny stove~you need room for the whole canning operation. Geez, if I lived local I'd be lined up to do some fresh picking. Start advertising it now. "Farm Fresh Organic Produce~U-Pick and Save"

I have made my own dryer balls by winding wool yarn into balls and felted them to the size of a tennis ball. I use two and sometimes spray MaryJane's linen spray on them before turning on the dryer. I have no problem with static.
