Carrie~It is very cold.

I think I'm coming down with a nasty cold again. I don't want to be sick.

Hey girls- just got back in from Houston-whew what a trip!
It's fast paced and I have to go right through the middle of it to get to Dads condo!
He's 82 and 6ft 6 (ex-marine & cancer survivor) and might weigh 135 lbs. He eats good but is so thin-really scary. He had esophagial cancer 25 yrs ago-which explains his digestion problems- anyway he's really healthy for an old guy.
Hmmm....now why was I telling ya'll that????

Anyway we had a very nice visit, lunch aT A NICE RESTAURANT AND THEN A SHOORT SHOPPING TRIP AND i WAS BACK OUT ON THE ROAD.
OOOPs Sorry-caps were on-
Carrie-got my envelope-tks for the mini apron too!
Sharon-WOW! We have hail fairly often in the summer-weird huh?
Global warming-dont get me started-I'm trying to stay off my
soapbox
Tks for the info on sergers- I guess I'll start looking in the next few days- all info appreciated!
I must stay home to work on my squares!!!

Blessings,
Autumn

It is cold here again. Tomorrow and Wednesday we are getting some more snow. I don't like delayed openings at school. Would rather stay home or go home early. Worked on the million pieces quilt again tonight for an hour. Chain pieced the little squares and a few half-square triangles. Will iron and put together tomorrow night.

I did clean my dining room table last night. It is pretty neat now. Made chicken soup tonight too!! We ate ours with bagels. Liked that!!

Bonne: Got my beret today. Thank you so much. Love it. Not sure who is getting it!!

Almost time for 24!! See you all tomorrow.

Sharon: Very cool pictures of hail and ice!

Autumn: I want to make both!! I want a laundry bag for my bathroom and a clothespin bag too. Happy to do either one! I will eventually make both anyway, so I can't wait to force myself with the swap:)

Around here if hail is mentioned in a storm warning I get ready to hide because there is generally a tornado within a couple of miles. I've always kept my car in a carport and when we got in this area I realized real quick I was gonna need a garage so it would not be totaled by the time I get out of here....We've got to either build a carport or a closed in garage at the cabin too....funny, how most of the houses around there do not have them.

Tina, I hope you find the perfect house and that your current one sales super fast so life can move along without a bunch of bumps in the road. We had it all planned out and now we have several speed bumps to get over to make this seemingly simple move HAPPEN!! Finding the property to buy has been the simple part thus far.

Hi sistas!
I have to tell you my new news. I met a man :0)
On an online dating site...and we met on Sat. had coffee and dessert at a Waffle House then sat in his truck and listened to his satelite radio and talked. On a first meeting people just have coffee and talk to get to know each other in person (after several phone calls, texts and email).
He called me tonight and we are going out again next weekend. This time to dinner and movie. He is a really nice man. I quit thinking about meeting someone and haven't be on a date in over a year. Now this happened and it is nice.
I wanted to tell you about it!
Any suggestions for what movie to watch?

Sheryl-lyn, I was trying to sleep when all the noise started. I knew that it was hailing. My oldest son comes as he usually does when I am trying to sleep. "Mom, you need to go outside." I drag myself out of bed, and WOW! I couldn't believe it. It took a while to go back to sleep. We heard what sounded like a gun shot, but all the street lights went out, so our guess is that it had something to do with the lights.

I went through more material and did some cutting. My oldest son took dibs on the dining room table. The sewing repair shop was closed today. Sigh.....

Linda, thumbs up on your date. I don't go to theaters so am out of the loop to what to see. I wish the best for you, you know that... Let us know how the date goes...

Sharon, I know that had to be freaky..probably blew a transformer. I remember the fabulous weather in the eighties when I lived in San Diego....it's so different now...and I know up where you are has changed too.

Linda, we saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but I didn't care for it. It dragged on. I honestly don't know why it received so many Oscar nominations.

IT IS SO COLD whoops, darn caps button , here today we are barely functioning. I thought the furnace had died. This brutal unrelenting cold really gets exhausting. I did have to go to town to buy catfood, survived that but fell on the ice in my yard and smashed my knee. What a bore. Pretty soon I'm going to bed, and I amy put yet another quilt on my bed, and I'm counting on several cat heating pads...Too cold to sew by hand today, and I'm annoyed about that. Ah well, it is supposed to be really cold tomorrow too...Keep warm!

karin, i want to find something for you, like made outta rubber so when you fall you just bounce right back up without getting smashed up.

you girls missed the heirloom seeds chat on small town living..where were u all?

my dog caught a small animal today, here it is in a bowl full of pine bedding and a coke cap water bowl on my kitchen table. my kids think it is their new pet, i think it is in some kind of pain, not lookin so good for the critter and my cat wont eat it cuz it smells like my dog.

freezin here, snow is fallin in big flakes, cross my fingers for no school tomorrow, one more room down here to clean and a couch of laundry.

Karin, snuggles to you...hoping all the cats make their way to your feet and everywhere you need warming up. We have a winter advisory...ice is supposed to start tonight...a mix and snow is forcast for Wednesday from Memphis to Nashville...we will be driving in it on I-40..will make for a long exhausting day.
