Who'd want that much upholstery fabric? bleccchh! Even if you did upholstery for a living, people are so fussy about patterns & styles, I'd only special order fabrics for Pd in Advance projects.
Another thing I found out, when I ordered whole bolts of fabric, I was so sick of that pattern after making a couple things, and I wanted something new and fresh, but felt guilty over having yards left on the bolt~ Never again!

Hey y'all.....no sewing here...trying to get all the laundry, housework, sheets, etc done before surgery tomorrow. I figure I won't be using my right hand for a couple of weeks....so best to be prepared.

Hey Jess......dog MAMMA!!!! Congrats. dogs bring a whole new dimension to your life for sure.

Sharon....so sorry about all that you are going thru with your Mom! Mine is doing a bit better since surgery, but as I am the only child, I pretty much have sole responsibility....would be nice to have a sibling!

Well, no one ever said that life would be without its ups and downs, right?

So......Happy New Year to all my friends on the farm!

Bev. Good luck on your surgery. Glad that your mom is doing well.
I am completely wiped after yesterday. Too long of a story.

I finished that quilt top I was telling you about the other day. It is on my blog with another one that I did in September. I am undecided about the borders for the top one. Have to think about it for a few months, I guess.

Glad you like my blog, Bonne! I really look forward to it each day and love taking pictures to put in it too. As far as being a speedy top maker...there is a running joke about me in the classes I take. They call me Sheryl Scissorhands! Every now and then during class someone will pipe in, "Sheryl, are you done yet?" It happens all night long. I help other people cut and piece if they need it. They are good times at the classes.

Sheryl-lyn, you are a wiz doing that wonderful quilt top that looks so complicated in one night. It takes me a long time to make one. Now, I have only made a few in my life time for presents. I have two nephews and their wives expecting in February. I made this quilt for the one who is expecting their second child. You will see why this one quilt took so long. It was my first major project using my embroidery machine.

lol Sorry about that. My dh came in the room and asked what the deal was with the laundry. When are the clothes going into the dryer? So....I must have hit the wrong key. I am glad that you like the quilt. It was time consuming for me. I had to re=do some of the animals, because I didn't have the hang of the machine yet and it seemed like the machine was testing my patience. Now, I don't have any problems thank goodness. I thought that I would make a quilt for the other little ones coming in February. My dh knew that they were expecting, but I found out in a Christmas letter from dh's sister and proud grandma. I found out some other things from talking to mil and when I told dh, he says, "I didn't tell you?" NOPE! Men

The one that I made the zoo quilt for worked at the zoo. They are now decorating the room for their new daughter in ladybugs. This will make things interesting.

oh how fun, yes we find out all kinds of stuff after the fact dont we?

My husbands parents raised 2 boys that belonged to his fathers deceased sister before my husband was born, so the boys were teenagers when he was a baby. Well, those boys have children my age, and one of the boys has 2 daughters, (okay did you follow all that?), anyway, both of those daughters had babies in September and October. My husband got the email birth announcement about the first babies arrival, so I emailed the other sister and said "Oh my gosh, we did not even know they were expecting!!" She replied back to me..."well, if you did not know about her, then you probably do not know that I am expecting in 3 weeeks!" So naturally I called his mother and all she could say is"Oh I thought you knew!" Jeez!!! I totally understand!!!!

Well, it has been snowing all day and 26 degrees...brrr....John and I managed to get one set of rabit hutches done, 2 more sets to go, and we actually like this design, so the next 2 sets should be very easy!!! YAY!! NOw to get my hallway painted! Hopefully finished tonight! I need to sew some heavy canvas roll downs for the hutches to keep the wind out and the heat in in the winter, but allow for breezy fun in the summer time heat!!

Sharon, that quilt is gorgeous!! I have an embroidery machine too, and I made my son a quilt with pictures in each center as well and it took weeks of me doing one a night before I could put it all together. What kind of machine do you have? I love my Viking Designer I. How long did each picture take for your baby quilt? At least an hour or so each, right?

Sheryl-lyn, I don't really know how long each design took. I think that I started the quilt in December and had it done in January sometime. I have a Designer SE, and really like it a lot. Dh bought it, but I am paying him back oh, so slowly.
