Sharon, Why is your mom refusing medical treatment? Sorry I guess I missed your original message about her condition.

Sharon,
I wanted to ask about your mom's refusal of treatment because my own mom has refused treatment in the past that could have given her a much better quality of living. Now her demensia (spelling??) keeps her confused...Now she needs the simple cataract surgery and refuses to have it because of how the doctor phrased something. I told her to go to another doctor...to not punish herself because of someone's attitude!! OMG, what do you do?? Anywho...just curious if your mom's mental state (like mine) has led her to such poor health.

Sherone: That is so gorgeous. Great stitching.
Sharon: I will keep praying for you, your mom and your family. We all have to deal with this issue at some time. I hope I have your strength when it comes.

Bonne: THANK YOU!!! I love the hat you sent me. I am wearing it tomorrow even if the sun is shining and I am in a bikini (sorry to offend your imaginations with that one...YIKES!) It is so warm and perfect for my hair and eye colors. Thank you for that nice surprise in the mail today.

Sherone, the pillowcase is absolutely gorgeous.
Bev. The honey is scrumptious
Queenofdreams4U, my mom fell originally on Thanksgiving, and was bedridden. She felt that she would be fine. Although, we tried to make sure my mom had water, she didn't drink much, and had a poor appetite. We talked my mom in getting help, so my brother called 911, and my mom went to the hospital. She fractured her pelvis, and also had renal failure, so the hospital did emergency kidney dialysis. My mom was sent to the nursing home to recover and had to be transported 3 times a week for dialysis. She was fine at first, but then she refused treatment. It had been 3 weeks since she had dialysis, and she was fading fast. We couldn't talk her into doing dialysis, and my mother didn't give me medical power of attorney.
Gals, thanks for thinking of my mom and family. I have been dealing with the fraud at the same time, but that is all I can say.

Hey Sharon,
What a chain of events. I'm so sorry all of this had happened to her. I was the caregiver for my mother in law who lived with me for a year. She was hurt a few times and refused to fess up that she was hurting worse than she'd admit to. She was so afraid of being taken to a hospital since her husband had passed away after 27 days in the ICU.
It was a struggle for both of us....me wanting to help her and her not wanting the help when she knew she needed it.
Kathryn Hepburn was right on the money with her quote about growing old.."Growing old is not for sissy's".
I know you are wore out from everything and plus dealing with the fraud. You are in my thoughts and hoping for a quick resolution.

Bonne: I saw your minis! They are so cute. I am such a slacker this time that I should be ashamed. Maybe tomorrow for them. I have to make my Valentine's cards too. I will be busy.
I posted a few pictures from our pheasant hunt today on my blog. We had such a great spring-like day (that is not always good for the dogs, but it was for us!) and we then got to eat some pheasant tonight (which I overcooked a bit, so next time my son will make it. He has a knack for that!)

Thanks Stephanie. Mom called me at around 11:30 last night. She was so weak. She kept repeating over and over, "I want to die, I want to die." She wanted me to drive down at that time of the night. She wanted help with this. She said that she could not take it any more. I called the nurses to let them know that my mom was suicidal.
I called my brothers late at night, but they said it doesn't matter what time I call if it is something important about mom. I called today, and they said that mom seemed fine, and that her lab work shows improvement. The only problem is that once she is stable, then it back to square one. We have all discussed this situation. I am going to call this attorney back on Monday. My mom needs an updated will, etc.

The hat looks lovly Bev! And I love your new Etsy header...so cute!... I'll be posting new pictures in my store later...I had some pictures that didnt really do the product justice...so yesterday dad helped me get some new ones... Also finally got good pictures of the new tea towel too..and started another the other evening... yesterday I baked 2 loaves of bread(surpised mom and dad!) It rose beautifully, and tastes awesome... Worked on my minis, cut out all the pockets, hemmed a few...and figured how I wanted to use the leftover mini apron fabric(apron of course!) Which I'll probably make that today too. (yes Jess, can you tell...I finished that geometry finally...haha) Then I'll cut of the squares for ny grands quilt for their..50th! whew!

You had the fairies b/4 Xmas, helping you clean house!!! LOL
Bev, you're adorable as ever!
Sharon, **sigh** sometimes I don't know if people say those suicidal things to get attention or if they really feel that way. My MIL would say, "I just want Jesus to come get me". What do you say to that other than upping her depression meds? Continued best wishes for you and your family. I've got a neighbor that is the same age as my MIL,(81) and has lost 2 husbands plus suffers from various back/hip pain issues, but she goes to the rec center and plays cards, takes senior exercise classes and just throw her hands up in the air and says she's high on life! It's all about her attitude, and I hope mine is like hers at that age!!

My mom has been saying that she wants God to take her home for years now. My mom told both a doctor and the RN that she will do the dialysis. It is just the getting up off of the bed that is the problem. All that jerking around can't help her pelvis heal. So.....I said to the doctor and the RN that if my mom goes back to a nursing home, that we would be back to square one. My mom wants to heal, but that she also said that she has lived her life and that she still wants to die.
