lol I was born in Michigan, and at that time it was fun, but then I was a kid who liked snowball fights and building snowmen.

you know if there was any snow at all maybe it would be neat, but it freezes your snot as soon as you go out and that just feels weird and it stings your eyes, and i am watering my animals hourly so they have anything to drink at all

That is rough-frozen snot. It sure makes more work for you with the animals.

Stephanie, I saw my mom last Saturday and she looked good. We had a good visit. I had called the nursing home last Friday and asked if mom went to dialysis, and I was told "yes, and she was cooperative."

Hi guys!! While I was away this weekend, my dear Uncle George passed away. It was during the night, while he was sleeping, so that made us all feel better about it. I posted a picture of him on my blog, so that you can see how cute he was. He really was! He was as sweet as Burl Ives as the snowman on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The funeral is Thursday, and we will have some family come by which will be good.

Thanks Jess!! I really appreciate your friendship during this hard time for our family. Even though he had a good life and did whatever he wanted, it will seem so weird and lonely when he is not here for the birthdays and other family days. He is being buried on my son's birthday, which is ironic since we would have all been together that day anyway.

Oh man, well...sorry to hear about the whole thing. I was hoping he would really make it through and be okay. Have fun on that day, not in a weird way, but really celebrate life you know. He would definitely want it that way! Gosh he looked so strong last month at Christmas...you just never know the turns life takes! Cheers to you and your family, have a good family day coming up, and remember all the reasons he is your favorite!

We will celebrate life on that day, both his and our son's. They were also very close. In fact, my son used to pick him up for the holidays and one time Uncle George confided in me and my husband that Rob had made his heart race with one of his rides over. (Seems my son is already practicing for high speed chases as he gets ready to be a cop!) He made us promise not to tell Rob though! While he was in his hospital bed with his heart failing, he said he needed another ride with Rob. :)

Hugs to both of you. I am glad Linda that it was postive for you and Sheryl that you have those wonderful memories.
Thank you for my pattern too.

Hey I found my cutting table too and sewed a bit until it got to darn cold.
Jess, we have snow and cold and a frozen pipe or two, one thawed the other still working on it.

Bonnie can I borrow that wood stove!!!!!! Thank you so much for having a gaiter pattern, wanted to do one just wasn't sure of the measurements. That was a sweet gift, guess what I will be making shorly. Grands use theirs all the time, gonna make them a couple more.

You girls make me smile, in all that you go through, you are there for me and for each other. There is nothing that can take the place of that. Hugs.

Good morning girls! Did everyone fair the night okay, it is now in the low 30s here...heat wave and we did manage a dusting of snow, so it feels so warm compared to the 4 degrees of the weekend!

Yes Carol Sue you are right. It is wonderful how everyone just really gets behind each other around here.

Just so you all can plan ahead....I will be hitting 3000 today or tomorrow, so get your gifties ready! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Was at Lowe's this weekend, Carol Sue. 1/2 off on all their seasonal heating stuff~aka: some free standing woodburning stoves and other equipment. Surprisingly, the expensive part isn't the stove, it's the dang piping!!
Another way to stay warm is polar fleece sheets. I started making them a couple years ago, and now I look forward to crawling into bed during the winter! I've also been saving my fleece scraps that are 5"x5" or larger and stitching together throws, pillows and kitty bed. I love polar fleece in the winter!
