I keep check on the craigslist around me and there's never any sewing machines..maybe I'm looking it up wrong..just hard to believe there aren't any.

I've got to take photos of my featherweight to show y'all. It's a beauty and got it at a good price...not like the thrift store or craigslist though.

That's a nice machine Bonne...I had an old kenmore that used all the stitch disks..it was a tank of a machine..loved it but lost it in Hurricane Katrina.

Bonne,

I'm at craigslist and looking under For sale - Arts+Crafts...is that where you are finding machines? I've looked under collectibles but nothing there..

Just type in 'sewing machine' in the search under all For Sale ~ no need to look under a specific catagory.

you know it is true my darling Bonne, so just help Stephanie out for a few days and the humm of sewing machines will buzz in her ears and her living quarters can look like a sweat shop, just like yours and mine do!

Ok, Bonne....keep a check on Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi....looks like Memphis is pulling in Southaven, Hernando, Olive Branch and Horn Lake. I'm in Southaven.

Just found one in Southaven for $30, brand new..lady never learned to sew..I've left her a message out of curiosity..gotta know what kind of machine it is..LOL

Before I sold my farm I had six machines all of which were vintage and work horses...picked them up at the thrift stores all the time. The thrifts around here don't have many and the ones I'm see are in real sad shape...too much rust going on.

Storage room you say..well now I'm here and there's 2000 sq ft in the mountain house..LOL

seee...Steph...watch out, I am up to 13 or so by now, and I am really pulling for a serger for my birthday! So you see...you may need to keep the mountain house as sewing machine storage. HA!

By the way, does anyone have the emroidery machine type that you can scan in a black and white photo and then do it up on some cloth?

If anyone does, please let me know, because I need 1 block done, I don't really think it is a big deal if you have the machine, and I am ready to pay for whatever I need to...I just am not ready to buy an embroidery machine. I don't think I have the energy to learn how to use it right now. Let me know. Good night!

The white in the cabinet looks new! I inquired about that one!
You never know when more featherweights may show up..I'd like to have a featherweight collection. I can just line up all the cute little black cases and let everyone watching wonder what kind of undertaker I am...they look like oversized medical bags..LOL

Oh Jess, about the embroidering from a scan.. I don't have my digitizing software on my computer or with me but I do have a software called Quiltworks that will convert a graphic into an outline drawing. I've never tryed it..too dam many toys around here..Is your picture such that you can trace over it and have it look anything like you want it?

Steph, no not really, I am making a quilt for my Dad. We have given each of the 11 grandchildren an 8 1/2" square to decorate with felt and paint and pom poms..how ever they want, but I was thinking it might be cool to include a square from grandchild #12..that at this point is only a very clear ultrasound, really I just don't want my sister to feel left out as there will be 7 squares from us, 3 from my othere sister, and just one from her, so I thought if I included her baby she might really love that! Anyway, my dad is Having surgery valentines day week, and I thougt it would be nice to give him a quilt for the recovery from the kiddos since they won't be there ya know...he might like that, and the kids are having fun doing that!
