I have a nasty bad broken tooth that is starting to hurt badly and am probably going to be in dental surgery tomorrow afternoon We were trying to wait until I was fully over my cold, but the tooth had other ideas. Wish me luck and strong pain killers

Good luck. Toothaches are the worse. I had one for four months until we got the insurance straightened out. I hope I never have another one. Saying a prayer.
May God bless those who love the soil,

Been there! Just a few weeks ago, actually. A very costly, not fun thing!
Good luck, and get some good drugs!

Had the exact same thing last week. Took an 1 1/2 hrs to get the thing out. On the upside though, dentistry has come along way and it was totally painless. Physically anyway! But it was my own fault...I should have gone when I first broke it. Man can I procrastinate about going to the dentist! Di |

This must be tooth week! My husband just broke his tooth, by, guess what, biting on a sucker! So we are off to the dentist tomorrow, I sure hope that they can glue it back together. If not there will be a nice large bill for a crown. I hope you feel better.

This might make you feel a little better......at the zoo, we have had 2 hooved animals who had to have teeth removed due to abscesses. Vets had to go in sideways and cut cheek to get to the teeth. There's lots to be said for being able to brush one's own teeth (I do try and brush my dog's teeth too)
One of these animlas has a procedure today because his breath reeks again and has been oozing out of his nose and eye of all things!!! Being he is a rumanent, he only has few teeth to begin with! His procedure will take us until a little before noon, and yes, he will be HEAVILY sedated.
Good luck w/ your procedure Annika and be glad you don't have to be darted in the butt.
and hopefully you'll get some good drug too |

Anna, I'm glad that I didn't have to be darted in the butt too LOL! It went well and they gave me pretty strong pain meds, but they had to go deep into the gum to find all of the pieces, so my mouth is pretty sore.
I'm sorry for the poor beasts with tooth abscesses, they are really awful. good luck with the rumanent. My land lady has llamas, sheep and goats and I have helped with vet emergencies quite often, beware of those hooves and horns if appropriate
Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart
