I would really like to get as many of my Christmas gifts as possible this year from Farmgirls and I would really like the recipients to know who makes the products they get, so I was wondering if most of you include a little piece on yourselves with your products? Not really a big deal I guess, but to me it is neat to know something about the hands that make them, not that is was built by a robot in China.
Also, does anyone make things that would be good for little boys? Like toddler age?
Thanks for your help!

I do little hang tags on my felted horse ornaments...does that count? Tells about the horse and where it was captured. But you've got a good idea; I think I'll include a bit about the rescue center I'm starting on it as well.
I think most of us would be more than happy to include a little something extra if it meant keeping customers happy and making a sale

I have an embroidery machine,I can embroider on most anything but hats. I don't have that attatchment. I am learning how to use my software on how to design my own embroidery designs. But so far I've been doing burp cloths out of pre folded cloth diapers, hand towels, canvas bags, and I embroidered a saying onto a quilt that a friend of mine made for her children. I have a little tag that I have put on things that I have sold, I could add to it and tell about myself. If your interested in anything let me know. But I think that is a good idea. I would rather buy my gifts, the ones that I don't make, from someone else that could make them. Robin

I sew mainly for for friends and family but also do projects by referral. This year for my toddler nephews I'm making them a matching fleece/flannel and flannel/flannel blanket and pillow both have their names embroidered on them (I use a machine) for their birthdays (Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving day!) and then for Christmas I'm making them a set of 6 hand puppets with a matching bag for them to be stored in. Last year I made the boys fun winter fleece hats. One was a bear looking hat and one had blue flames and had small points on it. They loved the hats and can still wear them since the fleece has some good stretch to it.
If you would be interested in them please let me know. I'd consider any farmgirl a friend :) I would include my Auntie Em's Sewing Room card and a little info. BTW, what part of Indiana are you in? I grew up just north of Purdue and now we live in SW Michigan but still spend a lot of time in Indiana. -Emily

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! You all are very talented. My side of the family draws names on Thanksgiving, so I am not sure who I have to shop for yet. That makes it a little tough to plan in advance. All of your stuff sounds great.
Emily- I live just south of Terre Haute. Your hand puppets sound really cute. I have to get something for my 2 yr old nephew/godson. The hats sound like fun, but they live in Houston, so don't really need winter stuff. I have a new niece that might need a blanket, though :)
Rebekka- Your sling on your website is so pretty. I definately need one for my next baby. Is that you in the picture?
Dalyn- your soaps sound so yummy. Very nice scents. But would you sell them outside of Washington?
Kay- I will be checking your shop in the next few weeks. I need to find something to use on my baby. Every soap and lotion I have tried breaks him out. Got anything for that? |

Toni- Thanks so much, I just love finding unique fabrics for the slings (they are nearly all one of a kind) that is Bella and I in the sling, hard to believe she is four already but baby Jack has taken her place there;) She road in the sling until she was two and a half. Kay's Olive Oil soap sounds great for baby, I use olive oil on my kids because they have super sensitive skin. Warmly, Rebekka
