Hello sisters. I was so excited to find this site after I picked up a copy of Maryjanes Farm from our local bookstore. My husband and I have 127 acres in Grafton, Ontario which is one hour east of Toronto. We have Black Angus cattle, quarterhorses, a mini donkey and a menagerie of cats and dogs. No kids yet. We live a double life of working in the city (to pay for the farm - silly isn't it?) and enjoying our little piece of paradise. It took us a while to get the operations of the farm down pat but we now have housesitters that live on the property, care for the animals and do odd jobs. I have just left an executive HR job to start consulting with the hope of spending more time on the farm and in my garden. I would love to chat with other city/country mice who are struggling with this balance. I have also recently gotten into Team Penning with my horse Cino and am looking to find out more about it. It's a great sport and there is a whole underground circut in Ontario. I look forward to hearing from ya'll Tova |

Welcome, Tova! I love Canada, especially "T'ronto". Used to go there a few times a month when I lived in NY. Again, Welcome, you'll love these ladies.

Welcome TOVA!
My Mother was Canadian, she was from St. John's Newfoundland and imigrated with her parents to Boston MA. My Grandparents always spoke of home and the folks there as though they had just left. I have visited a few times and wish I could have stayed longer. Very nice people there especialy the rural folks. Dairy farms are a lot of work, but if you like cows your in your realm. Kay
