As I was sitting in my back yard this afternoon, I was so grateful to see all the produce growing in the garden. Later, as I was picking corn, tomatoes, and beans for dinner I thought of those who often go without. I thought too of those who have lost so much from the hurricane. I was overwhelmed and humbled at what I have, so very much. But what can I do? Pray of course, but how can I touch lives to show my gratitude? I called our local food bank and asked if I could bring in fresh produce. So tomorrow, I will gather what I can, and take it them to distribute. May not be much, but if I can fill a tummy of a small child or someone down on their luck, I can know that I have offered something good in some small way.

Julia, what a wonderful thing to do! I know your kindness will be greatly appreciated. I too am so thankful for where we live and feel somewhat helpless to help those affected by this hurricane. I just can't imagine living through what they are experiencing. Prayers for them.

Thanks Julia. I have lived in the south and know the feelings that they are feeling now. We still have family in AR and FL, so it is always a scary thing for us. They are well and I am grateful for that.
