honey hunk and i went to a movie and to dinner .. then .. we stopped at Barnes and Noble .. i picked up a book on early colonial times .. and how we presently have many misconceptions of what it was really like and how the people were. the author made an interesting comment on how if we were to be transplanted to colonial times (late 1600's to early 1700's) we would think ourselves in a totally foreign culture. he went on to tell how many things that we do and customs have come from those times also .. but still .. it is quite different. he had lots of quotes recorded from those times on various subjects. as i read it .. i thought .. oh gosh, i can't wait to tell the girls this!!!
(i didn't buy the book .. chose instead a WONDERFUL book on creating jewelry from 'found treasures'. it is delightful! don't know that i will actually make any of the jewels describe .. although .. they surely are MY STYLE of jewelry!!! but the 'creativity' that spills from the pages jus' grabbed my heart!

Frannie - yes, you are right and I have done studies, too, that show how hard of a hard time it would have been living long ago. It sounds romantic. But times were hard. Which is why we are where we are today. People strived to make life better. And they did. But we can still have the romance. But not the hardships. Are we not lucky?

awwww pshaw! thanks for likin' my 'ramblins' gurlfrenz. i surely do love to hear all you kids have to say. i don't always get to all the 'threads' .. i guess mos'ly i'm an ACROSS THE FENCE gurl .. but try to hit some of the others now and then. i hope i've never ever slighted anyone by not responding to a posting .. but i'd NEVER get off this computer if i hit every thread on the few forums i'm on .. gosh .. i've even strayed away from some of those cuz' dollies would NEVER get conjured.
