The Warm Heart Story
During a series of personal crisis that cascaded on our little family over the course of a weekend, I found myself without a car, and with reduced income. I knew I had to run errands such as going to the store for milk for my daughter, Nora and going to the bank about 2 miles away to deposit our paychecks. It was cold and cloudy. I worried about how to keep Nora warm in the long walks outside.
Then the idea of the Warm Heart Dolls was born. A doll that could be a child's favorite play thing, beautiful, well made and all natural materials. Something that would be sturdy enough to be played with, and yet a cherished item to be kept forever. And then a secret inside. A removable bag that could be warmed inside the microwave to slowly release it's heat inside the doll giving your child a friend with life like warmth for play and a snuggly friend to help keep warm on car trips and walks outside. Our dolls with embroidered hair are also ideal as a way to keep infants warm inside their cribs or bassinets
Meet Luna! She is the oldest sister of the A Warm Heart Clan. She has the most amazing head of hair that you have ever seen! She loves to dance and play in the flower fields and always brings back a bouquet for Mama!

What a great idea. I remember making my daughter a wool stuffed doll when she was little, with all cottion knit fabric for the body etc. and she loved it. Of course we lived in Arizona then, but that warm heart doll is BRILLIANT for the colder slimes, and as cute as can be. Karin

Thanks ladies! I had fun making the first one. She had her own ideas about how she wanted to out! She continually kept telling that she wanted MORE hair! That girl is a hair Model! LOL Now she is telling me she wants more clothes, like pretty lacy pantaloons and aprons. I told her she would have to share with her brothers and sisters, but I am guessing I have a day of sewing ahead of me!

These are wonderful, could the warm packs also be put in the fridge to get cold before hot walks in the summer? I just adore Luna- you did a wonderful job with her Alee;) Birthing baby dolls is magical work and I know you are putting lots of positive energy into each one. Congratulations, Rebekka

Rebekka- Yes, the packs can also be put into the fridge or freezer though it probably won't stay cold as long as they will stay warm. However, the pocket could be stuffed with a baggie of ice as long as it was double bagged so as to not get the inside too damp... But since they are all natural fiber- you could just let them air dry and no harm would be done with a little wetness either! They are very versatile!

What a lovely idea. She is so sweet looking and of course I'm gonna love her name and being a gal with brown hair who always wanted more who loves to play with flowers and gardens...I'm totally captivated. |

Thanks, Luna!
My Luna (this could get confusing) is the oldest sister (as previously mentioned) and you know that parents always make the most mistakes on their oldest child. But I love her for all of her quirks :D She says she could go home to someone for only $15.
Her younger sister is almost ready for a picture to be taken. But she wanted her hair combed first which can take a while.
Nora keeps trying to snag the girls, but I have to tell her that I will make her one next! One of my nieces was trying to convince me to give her one over Easter for her birthday- which isn't until June! LOL

You'll have to forgive my sewing on her little apron. Nora did something to my machine that I can't figure out and the stitches got a bit loopy.
