I'm so excited about this new line ~ European style vintage bags! Each one will be from a different country and have a different story to tell. This first one is named for a dear French friend. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Patricia

Hi Guys ~ I'll make as many as I can sell. I think I can get about5 or six out of the fabric I have (I bought it at a flea market in Paris on our honeymoon. It used to be curtains! Can you see me brining all this stuff home from my honeymoon?! Hysterical) Anyway, if anyone wants one, let me know and I'll start making them for vous.

Thanks for the kudos, gals. I have all these ideas for stories ~ I have fabulous Russian fabric and Cazbah type fabric and more. I've decided when I'm dead someone else will get my stash so why not use it now and bring pleasure to others (and income to me).

Yes, Kathie that was me. I made up the checkbook covers but nobody bought them. I can make more if you want. I had a whole page of covers in different style (some of them very funny - like my one with a picture of nuns holding rifles as if they were shooting at something and I captioned it "Now about those 72 virgins...."

thanks again for the feedback now wish me some sales!

love,
Patricia

That sounds wonderful - you ought to tell about your fabric too. I love the story about France. They would make such nice birthday gifts.

Love the purse! Love the story! I think you're onto something -- vintage, Paris, little story . . . and a great looking product. Good luck! I think the purses should sell WELL.

I am SO excited about this. Inspiration is pouring in. I'm now working on a moss greendupioni silk (I've been collecting for years) handbag from the 50s with black lacquer square handles and this is the best part - accessorized with a "jewel" that is a crystal piece from a chandelier (I also collect those) that I also got at a Paris flea market....hm... whose bag was this? Another of Corrine's student femmes? Or maybe the grand-mere who married the comte? This is so much fun!

love,
P

Alright, Patricia. You sold me on the Russian fabric...I speak a little Russian, you know? A farmgirl who speaks a little russian could use a little russian bag, dah?

Well, it is sure an honnor to have a bag named after me, thank you very much for thinking on he because it is very french to me hehehe . They used to make "filet bag" and every lady wouldn't go out without them, they were the bag they would systematicaly take out for grocery shopping but not as stylish as yours Patricia.
Hugs,
Corinne

Sue, the bag is washable but the handles are sewn in. I thought about making them detachable, but it would spoil the look of the bag. The rose is detachable. I would suggest hand washing.

Stuie and I always say the same thing. We must keep this tradition of craftsmanship alive. Sure you could go to Wal-Mart and buy a cheaper bag but I believe you get what you pay for. This bag could become a family heirloom. It did for Corinne!

By the way, I just borrowed her beautiful name from our Corrine, not the circumstances. She's far from her 80s!

Thank you to all for your encouraagement. Now, do you know anyone who wants to buy one? Sometimes I think Etsy is a waste of time. Nobody from our group ever really sells anything.

love,
Patricia

Merci, merci! mes amis!! I'm getting so much enjoyment from this project! Corinne is sending me fabric from France and AFRICA! I can see a African woman forming already. How exciting is that?

My friend Melissa in L.A. (she's the one who does some of the voices in the crazy e-cards I send - by the way, if anyone want to receive them, send me your "regular" address - they're hysterical and quite the fun on dark days) is going to "shop" them on Montana Ave. (a tres chic et expensive rue des boutiques en Santa Monica) and some other places. Fun for her, since she'll get to "play" a high-powered and a little aloof saleswoman, heh her. Now all I have to do is produce some bags!

The Russian bag for Jonni is done. I'll post the story about Sacha and a photo of the bag later today. It's so beautiful I can't stand it. A gem from my stash.

Gotta go get to work.

Talk to you all later (gee this is fun)

love,
P
