Please pray for me. I feel this is a selfish prayer considering the angst in the world today.

As many of you know my boyfriend of 8 years has decided to end our relationship. I have not had a lot of success in house hunting so I have filled out an application at the apartment complex I lived in before moving in with BF.

Please pray that my application is accepted. I need to remove myself from my current living arrangments and I really enjoyed the place I used to live.

I need the peace and quiet to get myself back on my feet and try to recover from the hurt and pain I am feeling.

I need your help my friends.

Kim -- If the apartment is for you, your application will be accepted. And that old boyfriend . . . well he was not for you. As hard as it is to go through the pain of a breakup, you will come through the clouds and the confusion a strong, wonderful woman ready for the next of your life. Prayers and strength sent to you. Kim - new and happy things are ahead for you, girl, and they will be wonderful things. Just wait and be strong in your waiting. And while you wait, know that your friends are with you in spirit.

I just received the most horrible news. My cousin's son, Eric, who was deployed to Iraq after 2 tours in Afganistan, was killed yesterday. He was 22.............

Oh Kim,

There probably are not words which can adequately take on the size or the shape of the pain you and your family are experiencing. I am so sorry to hear this news.

Please consider yourself hugged and your prayers echoed in my heart.

Kim,
I can only imagine how you must feel. My daughter-in-law's brother, the father of her godson, has been in Iraq for 6 months and just received word they would be held over because the replacements were coming from the part of the country hit by the hurricanes. My prayers are with you and your family.

Oh Kim, I am crying...I am so sorry...he was so young. My heart goes out to you and your cousin in this time of sorrow. May God bless this young man's service and sacrifice to his country, and that we will never forget his ultimate sacrifice for freedom and the greater good...and God bless and hold close his dear family. My nephew was recently deployed to Iraq, he is a marine and will be 22 in Dec. Please hold him in your prayers...

If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come.

Thank you all. I just talked to my Uncle, Eric's grandpa, probably a 2 minute converation. He sounded so beat. I just started to cry and I said I was thinking about you and and give Auntie a hug and I love you. Eric was so close to his grandparents. I can't even think about calling my cousin. This was his only child.

He was such a good kid. He was looking so looking foward to going to college. He was barely there a month.

It's funny, the last time he was visitng my Aunt (his grandma) in Florida, the one thing he wanted to do with his best friend and his step brother, who was in a military school, was go to Disney World. He couldn't afford it. So my Aunt was going to pay his way and his best friends' way. They got there and they asked if he was a service man. He and his friend said yes and Eric's brother said no he was in military school. They let all 3 boys in for free.

Please say a prayer for my family. I love you all and appreciate your friendship ever so much.

Hug everyone you know and tell them that you love them.

Meadowlark,
I will say an extra prayer for your family.

And anyone else out there. This would be a good thread. The power of prayer is amazing. There are so many of us who have loved ones serving our country for our FREEDOM. Even if you are not religious, say a prayer, help everyone in our time of need.

Thank you!

Kim,
Hang in there! I too am sending you and your family energy. As I read the posts, a feeling of incredible calm came over me. We can be a great support system for each other, but we have to step out on a limb like Kim and let others know our concerns. In this day and age NO ONE has to go it alone. Kim, keep concentrating on good memories. Write your cousin and fill the letter with all the things you remember about Eric or even what you remember hearing. Some day your letter will bring great comfort. There is an old saying meant for survivors; Let each tear that falls be a fantastic memory you have stored, to be lived and relived as the time arises.
Peace,
Joy

Kim - It sounds like you have a wonderful family. I have prayed for you and yours, that you will be comforted. I also pray that we never forget the sacrifice made by these very special people who are serving our country. My son-in-law just arrived in Iraq for his second tour. I thank you all for your prayers.

God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we will be saved, in quietness and confidence will be our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, to your presence, where we may be still and know that you are God; please my Lord, grant Kim and her family peace and healing as may be best for them and give us all understanding and discerning hearts to see Your hand at work in this world. Amen.
