Do your grown daughters help you dress. I have found that if I am in need of new clothes I can take my daughters and they have the knack to get me things that look great and don't cost an arm and a leg.
So I say YEA for the daughters.

If my daughter helped me dress I would look like Punky Brewster ( which is exactly how my daughter dresses) LOL

I admit, I am one of the daughters guilty of choosing clothes for my mom. I only see her once a year though so I can't do too much in a short amount of time. I just want her to look her best, dress to suit her body type, be somewhat up to date on her clothes. I love her just the way she is though. She is a plaid loving former home-ec teacher that will buy something that is well made and wear it whether it looks good on her or not. She also obsesses about matching plaids at seams and if someone took the time to match the plaids she will get it no matter what awful color the thing is. Hey I love Punky Brewster. I had 2 pairs of punky shoes growing up.

My daughters are great.. They really help me with make up as well.. now my hair is an issue.. I think they both would like it longer but to me It is too much bother and I like the messy head look ..after all I am over 60 and I must say in great confidence ..with out prejudice.. and seeming vain.. I look pretty Darn good ... Whats wrong with that? I do dress up when I go off the farm,...

| I don't intentionally get my mom clothes because we are both very picky about buying new clothes and I don't want to assume that she would like what I pick for her. Plus, I almost never buy clothes. But, I end up giving her alot of my clothes that I don't wear anymore. In fact,I had to call her the other day to see if she had left a pair of shoes at my house. I knew that at some point they were mine, but couldn't remember if I had given them to her or not. My sister is really good at picking clothes for my mom so my dad usually gets her to buy some of his Christmas gifts to her. I am hopeless in the hair and make-up departments, so I think she could do better without my help there, too! |

I don't dress my mother. My mom is in her mid 70's and dresses more fashionable then I do. I've always had a taste for long skirts and dresses(well mostly, I did have a mini-skirt period long long ago) and my mom can't stand them. My mom tells me I dress too old fashioned. It fits my personality..I'm an old soul. My mom is more "hip".

HA! This caught my attention! My dd is 16, and yes, she helps me dress. I'm not allowed to shop at Christopher Banks at all! But as far as makeup goes, she is always asking me to do hers and her hair. that's what I get for having went to beauty school... I'm everyone's personal beautician!!

My daughters think of me as a hippie because I love to wear old broken in jeans with tie dyed t-shirts and my sneakers. My hair is naturally curly and can be rather unruly sometimes...it has a mind of its own. I make much of my own clothing and my daughters are always telling me that I should go shopping for my clothes instead of making them all the time. What makes me laugh sometimes, is when we're at the store, they are off in the clothing section, and I'm off to the fabrics. They've tried to dress me into what they call hip clothes...not my style. Give me an old pair of jeans any day.
God bless |

Lillie, It is all about comfort isn't it.. I wear what I want too. My daughters really do not say anything to me about clothes. I am a live & let live mom.. & I think they love me for that. Welcome to the farm.
