I sure do hope noone comes over when I am working in my garden.I must look like someone from the dirty 30's. My dress was fillthy, my apron even worse, and the colors on the two clashed. I was barefoot, part of the time and had crocs on part of the time...also my scarf(usually black) was filthy and a dirty brown... That is my attire when I work!!!!!!!!!!My skin wasnt any cleaner, I looked in the mirror and "Who was that staring back?" LOL!!!

I'm usually in rolled up levis and a flannel shirt and ball cap. Yesterday I had straw coming out of my pant legs and dirt covering my jeans. Kept wondering why it was smelling so bad since I had just cleaned out the chicken coop and had wiped water splash off my face when I realized I had wiped chicken poop from my sleeve onto my face. My hair is always a mess and my hands stay rough and dirty. Boy do I love being a farmgirl.

Oh, I'm a quite a vision of loveliness and a fashion plate when I'm working in the garden or yard. LOL It depends on the temperature on what I'm wearing. Usually it's these bright green stretchy pants I've had for about 15 years and some shirt that doesn't match at all. In the warmer weather I'm out in my gown tail (think muumuu type things with wild flowery patterns). And yes, all covered in dirt and grass stains too! Usually I'll go barefoot or wear some tennies or my father in law's crocs that he leaves here to wear when's he in. (Shhh, he'll never know.) LOL

I usually where jeans or my yoga pants. When I have things to keep a hold of I wear an apron or when I am harvesting things (Yay for an apple tree in the back yard!!). But that lovely patina of dirt does settle in everywhere!
Anyone else wear rubber muck boots?

one day, two older city ladies wandered down my driveway looking for a neighbors house. i went out to meet them in a torn up skirt, faded t-shirt, clashing apron, messy braid, and dirty feet. the one keep gaping at me, eyes fixated on first my apron and then my barefeet. they were so facinated with my get up, it's a wonder they even processed the directions i was giving them. i wanted to badly to shake my filthy foot in their direction and pertly ask if they liked my new shoes.

What we write today slipped into our souls some other day when we were alone and doing nothing. -Brenda Ueland

At least its warm enough where you are to get in the garden. We had snow 2 days ago and I hope it is the last of the season. I'll be out there gettin' down and dirty as soon as possible. Michele
