I'm Cherry and I am tickled pink to have been introduced by my momma to MaryJanes Farm! She brought me the Simply Bee issue of the magazine cause she knew I'd love it, and Momma was right!

The hubs and I have 39 acres where I'd love to have a "lavender farm" and keep bees (which is why I got so excited over the Simply Bee issue!) We share it with our 17 yo daughter, the little dog, the big dog, and two tempermental cats. My daughter also has two ducks she "co-parents" with a friend! They live at the friends pond, so I suppose she's the custodial parent!

I have a strong interest in preservation, from heirloom seeds to large tracts of land to the true American farmer. I believe that chemicals used in and on our food sources are the cause of the majority of our nation's health issues, from autism to obesity. I don't really consider myself to be a "get back to nature" kind of girl, but rather a "get back to common sense" kind of girl. If God made it, it's perfection and should be left to do what He intended.

I look forward to getting to know you fellow farmgirls and sharing with you! I'm already appreciative of the posts made about the sourdough bread recipe! Today ends my first week, and because of the wonderful information from all you other fabulous, first-time breadmakers, I know what to expect!

And so, as we like to say here in the South, "Nice to meet ya! I'll be talkin' to ya, sugah!"

Hey, Cherry! Glad to see a fellow Alabamian! Especially, one so close. I live in the next town over! In fact, we are practically neighbors! HA!

Oh, I hope that you will fulfill your dream of having a lavender farm and keeping bees. I had one lavender plant that outgrew my flowerbed. It was four feet high and reached at least five feet in diameter. I dried a sackful of the blooms, tied them up in an old pillowcase and now they scent my sock drawer!

I like your sense of humor (co-parenting the duck and the other girl being the custodial parent). And you are right about the common sense. We do need to get back to that. It is sadly lacking in our culture.

Anyway, I'm "fixin" to get ready for work, but glad to have you aboard! Have a great day!
