Hey there! Like I said, I am a newbie. My mom introduced me to Mary Janes Farm Magazine a few months ago. And I LOVE IT!! I have been so inspired through reading this magazine plus i just loved the name. I loved it so much that when i bred my Nubian dairy goat, I decided that if she had a doe, her name would be Mary Jane (MJ for short) Sure enough, my girl Abby had two beautiful kids on Tuesday night. A doe, who I named Mary Jane :) and a buck named Otis. Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration! -Em:D Smile Jesus Loves you! |

Welcome Emilie. Congrats on the new kids. We have meat goats, amongst other animals. This is a wonderful place to get to know people from all over.

Welcome, Emilie! My mama, too, turned me on the MJF! She gave me a the bee issue of the magazine and I've been hooked ever since and have made a new commitment to living the farmgirl lifestyle!
You can post pics. You'll need to set-up a Photobucket account and copy/paste the "ing" link. Head over to the Garden Gate forum to the OMG post and you'll see some that Nikki and I have posted.
You'll enjoy being here, girlie! Again, welcome!

Hi Emilie, we are so glad to have you with us. I've been to Gilbert, AZ, a long time a go. We lived in AZ for seven years, down south of Wilcox. My youngest daughter was born there. Boy, do I miss fresh pecans, pistachios, and mesquite to bbq with, LOL!

Hey Emilie. So glad to have another "goat girl" here! Do you milk them, too? I have 6 Lamanchas and a Nubian. One of my Lamancha's name is Abby. Also my daughter. Glad to see you here and hope to see you around.

Thanks everyone for such a great welcome!! I feel so loved :D Sorry I havent replied earlier but I have been really busy with my goat kids and a leadership conference for my FFA chapter. (just got back this afternoon)
Cherry- Thats the same issue that my mom gave me! :D Ok I will do that. Hopefully I will have a pic of my kids up soon! Thank you!
Teresa Sue- Thats so cool!! Ha ha Gilbert has probably changed a bit since you were here :D
Kris- Yay! Abby is a good name :] Yup, I milk her twice a day :D Once I wean the kids, I will use the milk to make goat cheese and soap. The cheese is to die for!! Sooooo goooood!! My favorite is Chevre with a little bit of rosemary and garlic mixed in it! YUM!! Right now I am only allowed to have the one goat because we dont have enough room (were pretty much in the middle of the city but we dont have an HOA so it all worked out :D ) so I will have to sell the kids asap but after I graduate this year, we will be moving to NM and getting some land so I can have my own herd!! :D
Julie- Will do! Thanks for the welcome!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day! -Em :D
