Been working my way through this site for the last two days ... think I've got it mostly figured out and would like to introduce myself to all you farm girls. My name is Sharon, I've never lived on a farm but I have the "attitude" and happy to join you all. Hate to cook but love to wear aprons. Makes me feel so domestic.

Hi Sharon! Like you,I have never lived (or been on) a farm, but I guess it's in the DNA-my great grandmother was a home farmer of sorts. I'm a newbie but it's been delightful so far-everyone here is so welcoming & friendly!

Hi Sharon and welcome to the MJF forum! You're going to love it here. Lots of us no longer or never have lived on a farm. As I'm sure you know by now being a farmgirl is a condition of the heart and not a location. We're very glad to have you join us!

Thanks for your welcome AlyssaMarie. Is the border close enough for you to walk from WA to ID? I can! Love it here in Eastern Washington especially today with our cooler weather. Best place in the world to be, Sharon

Hi Sharon, If I walk out my front door, to the end of my driveway, cross the highway and down the road, that road will take me to Idaho in just over 4 miles. So yeah I guess I could walk that, but being 7 months pregnant at the moment I think I'll hold off for now! HAHA :) The summer out here has been nice though. We are just having our one year anniversary of moving to our new little farm and while we've come a long way, it seems we have so much more to get done!

Oh ... how wonderful to have your own little farm. Do you have livestock or crops? And congratulations on your new little farmer this Fall.

Thanks for the invite Julie. Years ago, we drove thru ND on a regular basis on our way to Minnesota. Both my husband and I are originally from MN. Don't know where Medina is but it may have been a good stopping place on our way. My mother is the only parent left and now I fly over your farm to visit her. This must be a real busy time of year for you. Again thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon. You better watch out once the farm bug bites you, you can never be cured. It gets way down in your soul and you won't be happy unless you smell of fresh baked bread, have hay twigs in your hair and dirt between your toes. Welcome.

Hi Sharon! We currently have lambs protected by a guard llama and 25 laying hens. I started a large garden and orchard this spring but it'll take me several years to get that totally how I want it. I'm trying to convince my husband to let me raise a couple piggies next spring. If you are ever this direction, stop in and say hello!

Oh ... now you've hit me in my jealous bone AlyssaMarie. I've always wanted a pig as a pet. They are such intelligent animals and such sweet companions. Enjoy this cooler rainy weather. Smells so fresh out my door today.

Welcome from a Florida farmgirl. I grew up on a small farm up to the age of 18. Then, went to the city life. One day my family and I plan to own a farm.
