Hey,
I've been a Farmgirl for a couple of months but haven't gotten around to introducing myself.
Rise' (reesa) here, & I live with my sister Vintage Diva 1 in Brighton. We live in the city but wish we had a farm. Spent the best times of my childhood visiting my Aunt Lucille & Uncle Claude on their farm in Indiana. Learned to ride a horse named Stormy, a fiesty Arabian gelding over 16 hands, both western & bareback. Loved evry minute of riding, even getting thrown a few times & unecpectedly jumping a barbed wire fence(I stayed on for that one). Ate rhubarb from the garden, dug peanuts & boiled them. Made biscuits, fried peach pies and learne to make piecust by the feel & look of the dough. Later in my 20's I leaved on a fram with friend in Michigan & raised chickens.
Glad to be here with all y"all.

Welcome Rise,
I am excited to hear about your fried pies. My grandmother made fried pies. A memory I have treasured. Last year for the first time in many many years, I decided to give that a try. And wow, yummy. Anyway, you will feel right at home here. And you dont have to have a farm to be a farm girl. Mary Jane says it is a condition of the heart. You love everything about the farm life, and you have enjoyed the bounty, and know what it is all about. I would say your in.
