i have so many body sprays and perfumes, i decided awhile back to rotate them throughout the seasons... i have my warm weather scents and cold weather scents. i get excited each rotation to have something new and to use my favorite scents again! i've come to associate each scent with a season and smelling them brings back fond memories!

does anyone else do this?

I do have warm and cold weather scents. In warm weather I can't wear any fragrance at all or the bugs eat me alive! And I'm allergic to bees sooo..... But in cool weather I have a few lotions and potions I like. I really miss the body Shop's Bergamot line. I wear b&bw's Black Amethyst to church and Inis Arose when I'm feeling "fancy". (Even if fancy means lip gloss and a prettier apron.)

Yes I play the spoons, but I do it with perfectly manicured nails...

Well...I guess. I haven't in a while though because I'm totally hooked on Crabtree & Evelyn's India Hicks collection. I wear the Spider Lily every single day. It's so versatile.

I also own Ralph Lauren Blue and Be Delicious by DKNY--that's a pretty good summer scent, but as I mentioned, I just want to eat myself up with the Spider Lily...

I am a creature of habit. I love Tea Rose. I have worn it for years. I guess any rose scent is my favorite. If someone could come out with a Lilac and Sweet Pea, and Lily of the Valley, that really smells like them, I would wear them all, not at the same time mind you. I guess I am a floral gal. I really like lavender, but I don't think I woul wear it. Though I do like lavender water on my sheets.

ooo, I would really like Violet too.

Ooooo where do you find tea rose? One of my friends loves it but can never find it.

Have you tried Muget? (I don't know if they still make it) I always think of it when I smell the lilies of the valley that bloom in my garden. My sister's grandmother always wore it.

The last place I got Tea Rose was at an outlet mall, at the perfume store there. You may want to check the perfume shops in regular malls too.

I will have to check out Muget, never heard of it before, thanks.

i just had to write and tell you i found a new favorite scent.... bath and body works "velvet tuberose." very pretty. my other favorite that a friend gave me because it didn't work with her body chemistry is "midnight pomegranate." it's funny how some scents work on some people and not on others.... one day that friend commented after i put on the lotion "what is that scent? it smells lovely!" and i told her it was the stuff she had given me. she said "well, it definately works better with your body than mine...." anyone else have this happen?

My body chemistry changes everything. I used to love Chanel No.5 but it does not work with my body oil. I am a tried and true Rapture girl by Victoria's Secret. I wear it and get so many compliments, but its a heavy scent that works well with my body foo foo. In the summer I wear Sexy Little Things by VS. I used to love Bath & Body Works but htat stuff tears me up anymore. I cannot wear anything by Avon as it gives me an instant migraine as does cinnamon scents.

Mine changes, too, Dawn. When I was younger, I used to wear Yves Saint Laurent, Paris, and it was incredible. People would stop me all over, even in airports, to ask what I was wearing. I bought it a few years back and had to scrub it off after an hour.

Same thing with Chanel No. 5...have always loved it, but it doesn't love me anymore. When I was pregnant, I really had to wear a fragrance before I bought it--your chemistry is in such turmoil! And, Dawn, I can't wear any Bath and Bodyworks stuff--never could. Every single product makes me break out. Some of the scents are really nice, but it's just not for me.

I just started wearing a Michael Kors scent, Bermuda, I think it's called. oh it is delicious! a very warm floral with jasmine. It is definitely a summery scent--I don't think I can keep wearing it now that the weather has turned cold. sigh. maybe I can try j'adore again, which I wore before I had my daughter. hmm. wonder if I can find where I packed that?

I wear "Eternity" by Calvin Klein. My daughter was given a bottle for Christmas back in 1995 and now that is all we wear. It is so fresh, not flowery or heavy. You should sample this one. It is a keeper.

I change lotions somewhat seasonally: I like grapefruit or apricot in summer but something richer like vanilla or lavender in winter. I'm in love with Kiehl's Original Musk perfume since I discovered it about four years ago: it's a perfect blend of bergamot, rose, orange blossom, lily, ylang-ylang, tonka nut, white patchouli and musk. It works all year round. My old favorite was Neroli Rose oil from L'Occitane but it was discontinued so I savor my last tiny bottle of it but honestly I like my Musk better for every day.

Hi girls. I use to wear the original Victoria by Victoria Secret. It went away . I hate went a scent is discontinued. Then I wore Ellen Tracy (original). That was also dc'd. I need very light airy , fresh scents. Cinnamon , heavy florals or cheaper scents such as Avon give me headaches. I finally found Cashmere by Donna Karan. Very light and fresh. Love it.

I was really really glad to see this topic come up because it reminded me that I wanted to ask if any of you know the name of a good perfume with a cedar/pine/redwood forest sorta scent (for women, of course)!

I remember a scent like this from when I was a little girl, which has been about 50 years now. It was probably more redwood than anything. I have tried to do numerous searches on the Web over the past couple of years but have had no luck. I ordered some stuff this summer (from Amazon.com) that was called Tea and Cedar. The description was nothing like the actual perfume, however, so I contacted the company I purchased it from, through Amazon. They wouldn't refund my money (nearly $50) because they said I opened it. Well, of course I opened it -- how else would I know if I liked it? I had read their return policy before I even ordered the stuff, and it clearly stated that opened food items were the only thing they wouldn't make refunds on (well, of course). But perfume?? I contacted Amazon and they sided with the seller, regardless of what the return policy said. I am no longer a customer of Amazon and I used to buy EVERYTHING from them, because I'm kinda confined to my house all day every week day, because of my business. I can't just get up and leave anytime I want to. Well, lemme tell you, they'll get NO MORE of my business. (Like they'll care!!)

At any rate, if someone knows the name of an older or current scent that would fit this category, I sure would appreciate it. I also bought some stuff recently at Herberger's called Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. The sales girl squirted some on me (after some 55 other scents...) and said "oh it smells just like cedar". It smells nothing like cedar, but with 55 other smells in my nose, who knew? That stuff was $60 for a dinky little 0.8 fl oz bottle. Yikes.

Any help would be appreciated. (Sorry for the rant but I sure do get mad when I get took).

-Deb

P.S. I, too, cannot use Bath and Body Works stuff. Too many parabens and other nasty preservatives in their stuff, for one thing; and I get a horrid rash from the lotions. I love the smells of some of their stuff, but I cannot use it. The Black Currant Vanilla is just awesome.

Hi, Twink. You sound like a girl after my own heart. Try Southwestern Soapworks on line. They don't have perfumes, but they have soap, body wash and really nice lotion. My favorite is Lavendar and Sweetgrass, but they have some more "woodsy" kinds of scents that I really like, too. And, it's not terribly expensive. There is a "mountain" scent called Cedar and Sage which is what turned me on to them in the first place.

We have a shop close by (I think it's a chain) that lets you take essential oils and create your own scents. My favorite is french vanilla and good old patchouli. I can't tell you how many compliments I get - seems like everyone loves patchouli. It's easy to wear and is not overwhelming unless I get silly and spray on too much.
