It's been a long time since I was an active participating member here.....I come periodically to see if there is an answer to some question that nobody else knows that I've asked. You girls are a book full of knowledge!

I just finished 2 years of college & am working in a daycare in small town Manitoba, not far from where my parents grew up. My grandpa has just moved into a care home, so I'm formulating a plan to possibly move out to his farm next spring/summer. It's going to need a lot of work - he's lived there since 1967 & hasn't maintained it very well {the house or the yard}. But I think I'm up for the challenge! I'm hoping that it will all work out & I get to do it. I don't think I'd have any animals, except a couple of cats to keep the mice down, just b/c there isn't any place to put them and with working full time, I don't think it's fair to neglect the animals. Cats are plenty enough for me right now!

Anyways, that's me in a nutshell....

I'm trying :). Just not enough time in the day - and I like my sleep! But that's alright. I'm getting there. Since I moved out/completely on my own in June, I haven't found a schedule that works for me quite yet. I'm usually pooped by the time I get home, then I have to think about supper (thank goodness it's just me!) & clean/dishes/finish random projects/work on activities for the next day/week.....and I usually go to bed around 10-10:30. Gotta read before bed :). Anyways, thanks for the welcome, girls!

How cool, I hope it works out for you. Its neat when a farm can carry through the generations of a family. Look forward to hearing about your adventure :)

Wow! you sure need a lot of hugs, squeezles and prayers...AND you need more arms. hahaha I'd love to live on a farm again. I grew up on one, but now I live in a small "cow-town." It's handy, but I miss farm animals, especially chickens & goats! Take care of you! Judy

Thanks Carol, Sarah & Judy!

I talked to Mom last wknd about me living out on the farm & she looked at me like I was kind of nuts....but oh well. They are kind of busy right now, b/c my dad's mom passed away on Tuesday (we weren't close to her at all & I have issues with her, but that's for another topic) and on the same day, my sister had her baby girl, Aubrie Arayla. They need to go see a specialist next week to rule out a heart condition that her 2nd baby had & ended up passing away from in 2008. So everyone has a lot going on right now. But I'm going to see when the time is right if they'll let me live out there. I think it would be really neat. I started a blog about it, so if you want to read about it, let me know/pm your email/blogger log in & I'll add you to the list that can read it (it's semi-private.....)
