I am so excited that we had food from the garden for our Thanksgiving feast! We had brussel sprouts, leeks in the dressing and I made the pumpkin pie with pumpkins we grew! I know that this is nothing new for most of you, but it was so exciting for me and now I can't wait to plant more things in the garden for next year. I think I could do most of what we eat, other than the turkey, right from our own backyard:)

Good for you Leslie! Isn't it a great feeling to know that it tastes sooooo good from all of the love and work you put into growing it. We had Thanksgiving at my in-laws this year so I didn't get to show off my garden delights this year, but I did make a pumpkin pie just because I wanted one here at the house and yes it was from a pumpkin I grew.

Leslie -

You should always be proud of what you can serve at the table from your garden. I am still amazed at what I get from our little garden and backyard - it is good to know you have the capability to provide without going to the store. Good for you!

Leslie, isn't that the best feeling? I love it. Now that we had our steer butchered I can make everything from what I grew for meals. So neat. I'm so glad you got to have your own food for Thanksgiving.

This year, I made broccoli salad, roasted squash, and a pumpkin ice cream pie, all from our garden. I love it!

Congratulations, Leslie! It IS a great feeling. You ARE the source of that food: that's huge. You know exactly what was used on it since it was just a wee baby seedling. I think that's a big deal. It is my main motivation for gardening.
