Being a fairly new knitter and crocheter (I've made many scarves only!), I am looking for an easy pattern for a "deconstructed" jacket. Something simple, sort of a combination shawl/jacket/bolero. Any ideas?

What you need is a ravelry account :) www.ravelry.com Sign up there and you will have every pattern that ever existed at your very fingertips. A lot of them are free too. So you can go on there and do a search for wraps, shawls or boleros and tell it that you only want crochet patterns on an easy/beginner level with the exact yarn that you want to use. It's an amazing resource.

Thank you for that link, Sibbohan. I have also exhausted my dish cloth and scarf patterns!

Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!

Thank you for the link. I enjoy looking at patterns almost as much as the actual making of them! I have started what I hope will be a simple jacket style shawl. If it works, I'll tell the farmgirls know!

I just downloaded a free pattern from Ravelry for a very easy crocheted shawl.
Ravelry is very cool!
