Anyone have tips to get an Antique Singer Sewing Machine unfrozen? It was in storage for some years and I'm sad that the machine I learned to sew on-- won't move! Help!

Teresa, Did you try oiling the machine? It also could be the wiring in the peddle. What year is your Singer? I have a singer that I learned how to sew on it's a 404 that was bought new back in the mid 1950's. Hugs, Laurie

OIL OIL OIL every part that might move. let it set and then reoil. I got a Brother that had been in a flood and was rusted tight. I oiled and moved it just tiny moves until it moved I sew on it most every day now
Diana - that is so cool that you saved the life of a sewing machine, anyone but a farmgirl probably would have thrown it out!! I was going to say oil it too - is it a treadle or an electric? Amy Grace
