I have been wanting to share our boy name stories, but just as I get a chance to type, my newborn wants to nurse! Whne My Husband and I were first engaged, we discussed not only would we have children, but that we would have 4. not too many, (I came from a family of 6-then we added two step brothers and fosterkids!) and not too few- My DH a family of 2) We also discussed names for these babes, My family had a tradition of all the same first initials, and so did his Dad's family and he is a junior, so we wanted to pass on to the third, Soit was easy to decide on first names, the alphabet was narrowed to "D"s. Our first son would be David Henry III, Our second son we wanted to name Dale Michael after my husbands favorite uncle and his son who died of MS, a tough little fighter. Well... We had a Darby Katherine, A Debrah Joe, and then we decided that chances of two more boys were slim we decided on Dale Micheal for our next little girl, She is a tough little fighter herself, ( she was called John Wayne for several years, then she discovered that she was a girl!), So we moved on to a Deloris Rose, a Diana Marie, and finally David Henry, (I think George would have suited my Curious guy better!). Well this little bundle curled in my lap Was Dani or Danny from the day we discovered pregnancy! Middle names have been a little more work for us. (So much for 4! We now are blessed with 7 and only one little boy, but he is more boy than my girls are ready for!)
My favorite Boys names are so common in my Irish Family, We are full of all combinations of Michael, James, Dan, Ron, and William. I think each of my Maternal Grandparent's 11 Children has a Michael and a James in it, some two or three! That is a lot of confusion at family reunions! We have enough confusion with all the Ds around here!

Libbie -what is your maiden name? I have some cousins in South Carolina that use their maternal family names as middle or even first names-Mason, Hunter, Miller, etc. My sons are Connor Harrison and Matthew Holden. I actually wanted to name Matthew, Holden Matthew, but my husband prefered Matthew Holden. Congrats on your son!! I wish you the very best! For me, there is nothing more spectacular than giving birth.

I forgot about Heath. I have always loved that name and would have like to have used it but our last name is one syllable so it wouldn't have sounded very good.

I always like the name Levi too...but it sounded awful with my last name. I do have a friend who just had a baby and named him that.

My son's name is Chiah Starr. Can you guess that I'm an old hippy? hahaha
Chiah is Egyptian/Hebrew and is the word for the highest plane of magic that humans can achieve and Starr he got from his daddy.

ok so i have 4 kidlets. First was supposed to be a boy so we picked Shane- buit didn't work out that way so we went with Shana ( pronounced shay-na) Marie, then I had three boys and they are Brandon Michael (nickname Dino, he used to run around and say he was the great brandino and the Dino part stuck) Sean Christopher and Quinton Alexander. The only one with a famliy name is Dino- the Michael is after his grandpa.

My son is James Coleman. James is for his father and Coleman actually came from both sides of his family. My great uncle's name was Coleman and his father's mother's maiden name is Coleman. He goes by Coleman which is also a tradition on his father's side. Almost everyone in his family goes by their middle name. I too thought that I was giving him a completely unique name, but you know, these things run in cycles.
