While I would love to make all my skirts, I hardly have the time for it right now. So my question is where do you buy your skirts from?
I live in a very rural area so the internet is my friend when it comes to shopping.
I personally like longer skirts made of cotton or denim. And I really love elastic waste bands! Super easy on an off. I seem to have a difficult time though finding skirts that I like that I can afford. While there may be plenty of pretty $75 skirts out there, I just can't pay that much!

I find some on Ebay, and recently got a broomstick skirt for 5.99! Also, there are some sites that sell them.....Katie's Mercantile and Modest Apparel USA. I am with you, when the weather is cool enough I only wear skirts.

Goodwill and Salvation Army all the way! That's where all my skirts come from (that I don't make). :)

I have gotten some really cute broomstick type skirts at Walmart. They were inexpensive and wash and wear well. I even wore one today to Palm Sunday Mass.

Annika, I made one of those last year. I used a vintage white bedsheet that my grandparents had brought back from Canada in the early 60's LOVE it and will wear if often again this summer. The pattern is SO easy to do :)

Our goodwill is pretty bad and super small- I wish it were larger. If I had the time I could travel to go to better ones but everything is pretty much 1.5-2hrs away!

Annika- that skirt is adorable and it DOES look super easy! Maybe I'll try when my parents are up visiting and I have a little extra time! Thanks for the link!

Annika, I love that skirt. That's the kind I like as well as the broomstick kind.

You are welcome Heather! IF I find more, I will send the site addresses along! I pledged to stop any personal shopping through Lent, but when that is over, I am going to buy some of your dishcloths! They look wonderful.

I make circles, half-circles, and gored skirts for ladies sometimes. I've made my mom a couple of plain skirts with elastic waists, and she loves those. You can email me for more info if you like! I love sewing, and I've got too many skirts as it is!!!

My daughter likes long, full skirts but she likes pockets too. We get either too short skirts or jeans at Goodwill and cut them off a couple of inches below the pockets and add cotton tiers to them. She just made one last week and I think it's her new favorite.

Blessings,
Leigh-Ann

I find lots of pretty skirts at thrift stores in my area.
I do love the pattern Annika shared the link for ... would be so pretty with some springy print fabrics. Maybe a project for the coming days!
