I have a redwork wall quilt half done. I need to get on the ball and get it done.

I've never tried the crayon thing. I will have to try it.

Hi Ladies...I just bought A Rainbow of Stitches with a 50% off coupon
at Joanne's. And have ordered a couple other books Pam recommended from
Amazon. I haven't done embroidery for years but am looking forward to
getting back into it.

Blessings,
~Peggy

I LOVE to embroider! I haven't ever done tinting yet though. I will have to try it! I thought you had to buy the special crayons at the notions store to do that! I'm going to have to give it a try with regular crayons now!

I love your work btw. I know eyes are hard for me sometimes too. I usually try to leave them out of the transfer, cause it seems like they can look real cute in the drawing but don't "stitch" that cute. I find free handing the eyes to be easier. Just putting stitches where my instincts tell me, till it's just right works best for me.

Beautiful work! Keep up the good work. I have read several blogs with embroidery. go to blogspot.com and search embroidery. You should find some new patterns there. Or try old postcards. You can enlarge the pics and make your own! The possibilities are endless!

I embroider on and off like with all the crafts I do. I usually tint too but with artist quality colored pencils.

BTW we have the Guadalupe pillow you made in the living room, our guests the other night wanted to take it home!

Pam I love your work! I love to embroider, but feel I need to practice more, I would like to get it to were the back is nice and clean too. The front looks great, but the backs are always chaos.... Anyone know of a really good book?

Thanks! I would check out Sublime Stitching books and website. She has great tutorials and fun patterns. Doodle Stitching is pretty good too. Also check out Mary Corbet's Needle and Thread website. I haven't been on there a lot but I heard it's good.

I'm totally tooting my own horn but here is a podcast interview with me. Warning-it has a little bit of blue humor to it. Kids should not be around.

Pam, I really enjoyed that podcast thanks! Very entertaining :D. I really appreciated what you were saying about stitching being great therapy. Without going into too much detail here, I expirienced a certain situation (he's the ex now...) and even though I'm married to a wonderful man now and have been with him longer than I was with the ex, there are still days when I wonder if I'll ever be able to forget. You guys really inspired me, because it's so true, when I'm crafting I'm free. Oh, and the dogs really loved the podcast too, must have been all the giggling haha!

Hi Pam...I loved your part of the podcast but found the other two (the Moderators) a bit over the top for me.

Half of what they said made no sense to me even...but I appreciated the things you shared.

Peg-so many people have said that. One of my friends asked how I could put up with them. So, for future reference...I'm about half way through. LOL!

Karen, thanks for the crayon tinting info.....I love it and want to try it on some old patterns that I got from my mom, who got them from her mom!!! Also, I discovered that our Hobby Lobby carries a nice line of the old Aunt Martha's transfers! They sell them for $1.50 per envelope...I was so excited to find them! Someone said the WalMart carries them too, but haven't confirmed that yet. Thanks for all the info on this thread....I also want to figure out a neater back to my embroidery pieces!!

I just saw some Aunt Martha's at Joann's and was sorely tempted but I have told myself that I have to finish two knitting projects before I spend money on anything new so I'm knitting this month:)

Good self discipline, Amy!! Afraid I'm not quite so good at it...but I find that buying my "next" project, I'm more apt to get finished with the first one so I can move on!! Doesn't always work though...sometimes skip a step! Your method is better and I think I'll give it a try!! Hugs and Smiles, Lin

You are a lot better than me too. Last week I went in to get some pillowcases and came out with 5 new patterns and the pillowcases.
