We couldn't figure out where all the extra eggs under my broody hen were coming from. Then we snuck into the coop with a camera and solved the mystery!!
Amy, I have seen 2 hens on top of another in a nest. And there are nest all over the place! Why do they do that? They are so silly. I am glad you solved the mystery.
I have a Buff hen that I have had to throw off a nest for a week now. I have told her over and over I don't want anymore chicks! She just won't listen. So I have her locked in the milk room. SO far she's just walking around and hasn't nested down in the hay that's in there.
I hope you have alot of little chickies running around soon. They are so cute. And all the chicks that have hatched here are just in with all the other hens and chicks and no problems. The hens do not mess with them at all. The mommas will attack if they do.
