A friend called the other day with a question I could not answer and I told her I would ask here.

She has a 3 year old doe that kidded a year ago in April. Something happened and they dried her up in Aug. She said she is real skinny but is developing an udder just recently. She has milked her a little and said it doesn't look like colostrum. She does have a buck but NONE of her does were bred. So no kids at all this year. Nothing. So I have no idea. But sometimes goats will produce milk without having kids and can be milked for years like that. She just might be one.

So I was wondering if anyone has heard of this or know what could be causing this to happen. Maybe she is coming into heat?

Kris

It could be so many differant things, I would never guess, she needs to have her vet out.
