well we have 4 piglets that are so darn cute. we spray the girls with the hose a couple times a day. they run and jump and push each other over. then wag their little tails and run in a circle. they just love to root.lol they are hamp/york cross. we have one that looks like duroc but is supposed to be york /hamp. we then have 2 4H sows that we will breed in sept to have piglets for early spring. lisa and i will eventually have the only non gmo naturally raised grass fed and finished on grass pork. we will feed a protein that is not gmo. we can get that here. lisa and i are so excited about this. we are pre selling our pork now. we are going to buy some more pigs after we get our fences up and pens in. their is a guy here that has big water tanks that hold 300 gallons. the tanks are gone but there is a metal frame made out of tubes. we are going to get them and wrap them and use them for shelters. we are getting the frames for free. if we go get them. so happy days on the farm. who else has pigs? anyone growing in pastures. we are going to use wrapped woven wire and electric wire back up. i have found through 12 years of raising pigs that if i train them to hot wire when piglets then they respect it when they are older. we also gather quality cast off food and cook it for the pigs and chickens. right now we have 1500 lbs. of beans. we have to cook the beans for them. i also feed dried in the field alfalfa hay and weeds. what do you do for your pigs? happy days sherrye

Sherry, I have been freezing gallons of milk since I started milking. SO I have a freezer full waiting on some little piggies now. I want to try to find some Red Wattle pigs and go as natural as possible. They will be out back rooting to their heart's content. And cleaning up back there too.

Enjoy your little piggies!

Kris
