I was reading a back to basics book & they were mentioning planting a "pancake patch" meaning a small enough suburban wheat patch, just enough for weekend pancakes. I live on *almost* a qtr of an acre farmette & would like to try to grown some grains, so was thinking of wheat. Has anyone ever grown a small patch? Is there any advice or sites you can recommend to help this farmer-wannabe?

I sure wish I could grow wheat here. I hope you find out what you need to know from someone. That would be great to have. Because wheat is so expensive. I buy 50 pound bags and grind it for bread and flour. So to grow my own would be nice.
