Well, the pet saga at my house continues. My rescue dog is sorta getting the idea about doing his business outside but my cat has decided to protest his presence by using a corner of our basement rec room as her new potty. Any ideas how to get her back to the box? We've dosed the area with Nature's Miracle but from the lingering odor, she is still doing it.

I spray pure vinegar on any spot my cats try to turn into a potty area. There is still a funny smell in the area, but at least it's not kitty pee! That trick also works on the christmas tree. My cats broke all my ornaments one year till I found they couldn't stand the smell of vinegar. We bought new ones at the after sale, but they were stolen before christmas rolled around. After 2 years with only garland we found out a baby was on the way, so we homemade our ornaments. Aparently if they aren't round and shiny, cats won't touch the tree either!

I'll give these suggestions a try. I can tolerate a lot of stuff but that's one smell that drives me crazy.
