Sweet story, but, I am very much against horse racing. These babies are not ready to do this grueling pace on their not yet mature bones and joints. Did you all know that out of every 100 race horses, 70 will be crippled up during training, and of the 30 left, 20 of them will never race due to not having the heart, now there are 10 left, of those 10, 6 will break down during a race, and will be euthanized, the 4 left, if they are lucky, make a few bucks and become someones show horse when they are sold off the track. Most people have no idea how many horses are bred every year for the race track, and this includes Quarter Horses as well, and how many of those are crippled, euthanized, or just plain abused for what ever life they have left. Horse rescues are not able to take them all, due to the economy, so they are being abandoned all over the country, or left to starve to death in a back, secluded pasture somewhere. I could go on and on, but I won't, sorry, but I have seem first hand the horror...
