Always wanted to have your own organic farm but didn't know where to start?

Course instructor, Cinda Williams, UI Extension Educator in Latah County, has been teaching a version of this course since 2001, and says “The course gives students a broad overview of production and marketing options on today's small farm. Participants learn the process of matching their goals and resources to determine what is feasible. An essential part of the class is the network developed between classmates and with established area organic and sustainable farmers.”

Nez Perce County Extension Educator, Lydia Clayton, will co-instruct and several successful local producers will share their expertise in sustainable production techniques, direct marketing and more. Participants will go on farm tours to see different operations up close.

Enrollment is beginning now, with the first class scheduled for Monday, August 30, 2010 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The class will meet for ten evening sessions, plus two farm tours. Course fee is $125 per individual or farm family. Cost includes a comprehensive resource manual. A limited number of scholarships are available upon request.

For more details and to register for this course, contact Latah County Extension at 208-883-7161.

I sure wish she was having these classes here in Ga. I'd love to go. I would if I lived in Idaho. Thanks for posting about this.
