I had goats, and drank raw milk from them. I never had the milk tested- I drank raw milk and ate raw milk kefir and raw milk cheese, through my pregnancy and when I was nursing. I started my son on the raw milk products when he was over a year. We both did fine on them. Then we had to move and did not get to have goats again. It would have been hard , being a single mom and a midwife, trying to raise goats! Mary LD

Susie, I have a friend with 2 Jerseys. When my goats are dry I drink her cow's milk. She has never had hers tested. I have never had my goat's milk tested either. Before the goats we got milk from a dairy. Of course theirs had to be tested periodically. But I have never been sick because of raw milk and I know a lot of people who drink raw milk and have never gotten sick either.
I think more people have gotten sick from the other milk. I know my animals and they are healthy. I don't worry at all about drinking raw. I also make and drink kefir. That's probably the best way to drink milk, in the fermented state. There is a lady from Romania that gets milk from my friend. She does not want the milk refridgerated at all. She lets hers curdle and also makes cottage cheese. She is the most healthy person I know. So there is alot of benifits to drinking raw in every form.

At least a quart. Sometimes more or less depending on my day. I love it.

Please be careful with raw milk. Even though there are hundreds of examples of people who've been drinking it their whole life with no problems, there do occur problems sometimes. Especially with people who aren't introduced to it slowly (to allow their body to develop immunities to any bad bacteria). My husband was very unfortunate and ended up in the hospital for 9 days, close to death, because of raw milk. We pasteurize our milk because of this risk.

| There is no more risk to drinking raw milk then eating processed food with all the chemicals in it. Buy milk from a store and they have put more stuff in it and added sugar to it. |

I have drank raw cow and goat milk all of my life (53 yrs), as well as my entire family, but I know of some that started drinking it raw later in life and have ended up sick from it, one friend really had a tuff time, and it was discovered that who they were buying it from was feeding the cows feed that was full of drugs and chemicals. So start slow and make sure you are getting organic milk...
