Thank you for the welcome!

Lessie I'm about 3hrs from Kansas City. I live just outside a very small town in southeast Kansas in the Flint Hills.

A little more about me. Well, I'm actually an Okie who fell in love and moved to Kansas. I finally finished my degree in Special Education back in December and moved to Kansas this past summer and am currently Substitute teaching. I live on a small cattle ranch that we call "the farm," but we have no crops. Hehe. (Not Everything around here makes sense, but there's almost always something to laugh about!) We have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 5 kittens, and around 75 mamma cows w/ any number of calves throughout the year. We also have any number of kittens throught the year. So the running joke is that we raise kittens and calves. :)

And Marcy, I was going to complain about the cold but seeing how your from Rhode Island I'll keep my trap shut. I'd be an ice cube if I was up there!

Hope the Holiday season has been as enjoyable and as stress free as it can be for everyone!

Lifes not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

Welcome tommie,

You'll love getting to know the farmgirls. I have. I lived in Paola, KS for a few years and then we moved to Spokane, WA. (Ice cube weather lately.) Love your cattle and kitten farm!

Look forward to getting to know you

Thank you ladies for the welcome. I'm feel'n the love!

Marianne, KS is ice cube weather enough for me. I did live a year in Connecticut. I don't know what I was thinking. Driving by the bank and seeing -2 as the temp (not the wind chill) confirmed my speculation that I was crazy! Sending warm thoughts your way.

Grace, gabby is good! Right up my alley. Living out here in the middle of nowhere, I don't get to be gabby (to people, rather than animals) near enough. :)

Reina, hidee-ho neighbor. :) I have a feeling your right about finding kindred spirits. This place has such a homey feel to it. I don't have a sister, but I think that may change soon. Can't wait!

Thanks y'all
Tommie

Tommie,
Marianne & I are 'country neighbors' (we just live a couple miles apart)..and she as well as I have lived in KS...
So we truly can say, "I don't think we're in Kansas any more, Toto"...lolol!
I swear I don't recall Winter in KS to be that cold,,,course I was 16 when we moved.
Oh & as goofey teens would do,,, we would hose the sidewalk down at night so that come morning it would be a "eco-green" Slip-n-Slid!... it never occured to us that other people used the sidewalk besides us..uh duh! But it was a heck of a lot of fun getting a good running start & slid across the ice!

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Tommie! We are so glad you joined us. A plethura of friendly, helpful and talented farmgirls awaits you. Speaking of cold, I live in the frozen tundra, right now it is about 17 with a windchill...going to hit about 20 today!

OhMyGosh Grace, that is hilarious!!! And my opinion of winter in KS being cold may be scewed a little since I really really really dislike the cold. So it probably doesn't feel so bad for those with thicker skin than me...which is just about everybody. :)

Thank you Diane and a Howdy to you! I have to say, I'm chilled do the bone just reading 17 degrees. Brrr! Its 34 here with a high of 42. It'll get colder before the winter ends, but this is cold enough for me. And I love your taglines. The Raggedy Ann one...priceless!

I just have to say, y'all are awesome. :)
