Have you thought of color books, children's story books, tole painting books? with the transfer pencils you can use almost anything. I use to tole paint and have even used ads from the newspapers etc. Just let your imagination be your guide. You can come up with some really neat and orginial ideas. Lola

Kristina, I recently found a site called Craft Gossip and they have some very cute patterns, some thing for every one. Coloring books do mke for nice embroidery patterns, especially the older ones.
Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting them in a fruit salad!

Embroidery is my passion and I often use my Tole Painting books for patterns, especailly Pat Olsens books. Applique patterns also work well and the website Tipnut.com has free patterns too.

Kathy I was trying to think of the Pat Olson books last night, but it was late and I should have been in bed LOL I still have several of her books and just love them.

Lola Her books were my fav to paint from, they make great applique designs and embroider well too. I wonder if she has any idea they are used beyond painting. Her books are the few that I have kept.

Kathy I've not really looked at craft books lately, in fact haven't done any painting for a few years now. But when it gets warmer and I can get to my saws I plan on cuting out some things and trying my hand at it again. My DD does shows yet and is after me to paint some windcatchers I use to do about 75 different ones waaaay back when. I did crafts for over 30 years and did shows. I still go once in a while with my DD.

Lola I used to paint on everything but haven't done any for about 18 years, tho would like to start again. It was very relaxing and a nice change from the sewing, quilting and embroidery that I do. I would like to see your windcatchers bet they are really pretty.
