Has anybody grown greens in one? What varieties do better? I think I will ask DH to build me one for my birthday.

Yes I love mine I did 3 plantings of lettuce all kinds no real difference in out come love the Romaine, I also grew Radishes they were GREAT. I used a 2/4 10 Cut in to 4 pieces to make a rectangle 2 pieces cut to 24 inches and the other 2 cut to 36 inches I screwed the ends together to make a frame/box 4 inches deep. I put 1/2 inch hardwear cloth its a metal fencing 1/2 inch openings on the bottom I stapled it to the bottom of the box Regular screening material would work also. On top of that 3 or 4 layers of newspaper and then dirt and planted with lettuce. I even made a light weight frame with hinges out of a 1/2x10 board and covered with plastic stapled on to keep it warmer in the early season.
I have never heard of a lettuce table. I am trying to understand some of your directions, but where did you find info on this? Would love to get one started in early Spring~

There is a variety of heirloom carrots that grows very short. I believe it is called paris market. It would do well there and so would onions. All of which grow great together and actually feed each other!
