Hi all, I'm new here too, it looks like a fun place to be. I wish I had thought of a cute or clever name, I see so many sisters with great user names. I live in up state NY, we rent a little house from a retired farmer, so this past year he let us use his barn and we raised three bulls, our first time. We also have chickens, we've had them for about a year and a half. We had a burbon red turkey, too, but unfortunatly he died. We also tried having ducks, but a racoon wanted them more, so sad . I am 50 years young, and I have always wanted to live the farm life, so has my husband, it's the second time around for both of us, so we say we should have ment years ago. We have a house that is a fixer-uper, so we are working on that. I love dirts also, and I can't wait till spring to get out and start the garden. This past fall I canned for the first time, it was great!Anyway just wanted to say hay and look forward to reading your posts and writing to all of you.

Welcome Terri!

No, definitely not weird to love the dirt - perhaps a better word is soil or earth, in which all things grow and make life possible.

Do I love "dirt"? Not dirty dirt which is why I clean the house and the kitchen floor but soil dirt, a definite yes! I love to garden, and doesn't the earth smell simply wonderful after a Spring rain!

I love your quote!

When I was in college, one of my professors said that the first thing you do in your new job is plant a garden -- to keep you rooted. He may have been on to something.

Hi Terri,

Here's a hello to add to your garden of hellos from Northern California where the dirt is plenty wet right now from a week of wind and rain that has come our way since Monday.

No rays of sunshine either around at presently but when you visit here, there's always the feeling of sunshine beaming down from ou Farmgirl Sisters who make it just that much warmer and sunnier!

I know you'll enjoy visiting this sunny place often where there is lots to enjoy and smile about just like in a garden of flowers all radiantly in bloom!
